MandysMom
Thanks! But Ekko will not be put under with this vet again, nor will the boys. She was under for 2 hours and that's a bit ridiculous. And again, just in case anyone missed it, this is not the vet that was refered to us. Wow, I would be furious with the staff on the scheduling snafu. The staff at my vet's office knows that I will only agree to have our regular vet see Mandy. I hope Ekko is feeling better. Quote Beverly. luvhounds2
Oh no, I just saw this update on Ekko. Poor thing! What an ordeal. I'm sure glad you caught that she was dehydrated and took her back in. Let's hope Sunday is a much better day for her highness. Guest Longdog
Bless you Ekko, you are one tough cookie to pull through this ordeal. At least you are home and being spoilt and have love by the bucketful coming from everyone, so many positive thoughts, it has to help. Here's to a speedy recovery

CaliforniaGreys
When I started this thread, I thought it was a little foolish to ask for support over a dental. I knew it would be a little scary for Ekko but never imagined this. She was a very sick girl yesterday The vet asked me yesterday if I had studied to be a vet and I told her no, and I told her that she will learn if she ever deals with GH people, she will realize that we all will educate ourselves either through research, or experience so we insure proper care for our Greys. We're involved with their care. We're a different breed Ekko had a restful night and was eager to eat this morning. I was able to give her the Metacam because she had a full stomach, however I am not giving her the antibiotic. I don't like Amoxicillin and now that I'm thinking more clearly, I will call and get Clavamox. Ekko is on her way to being Ekko And just a note on sick stomachs, there are a lot of good drugs out there, like Carafate and such, but Cerenia is the best for a very sick stomach. The shot does sting, but relief is felt right away Thanks again everyone Quote Missing my little Misty who took a huge piece of my heart with her on 5/2/09, and Ekko, on 6/28/12 For the sick, the lost, and the homeless

Guest Energy11
GREAT news! The Metacam is a wonderful medication, and it should really help her pain and discomfort. Also good that she is eating! Thank God everything turned out OK! Send her a huge hug from us!

seeh2o
Such good news, you'll be resting better now, too. Well, on second thought, maybe not...if Ekko is feeling really better...watch out world! Claudia would you elaborate on your reservations about amoxicillin? I've never had a vet use Clavamox before, but have had amoxicillin and ceflexin prescribed a bunch of times (for all breeds, not just greys). It will be good info for future use.
