macoduck Posted December 10, 2009 Share Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) Wally is gone. Suddenly. Unexpectedly. A stroke, or strokes, left him confused, scared, vacant. We helped him to the Bridge today. Wally joined our family a few years ago at age 8. His owners dumped at the GFNC kennel when they divorced and neither one wanted him. We had just lost Oliver to a stroke and knew within days that we had to bring another old boy home. Wally could pass as an identical twin to Oliver - a fact that nearly prevented me from bringing him home. But I couldn't hold how he looked against him. He wasn't dazzling. He lived in his own silly world. The girls- Gracie, Pudge and later Niña, never bothered him. He was the biggest dog in the house at a tall 94 lbs but he placed himself as the low man on the totem pole. I used to joke about how his faded brindling made him look like an old man in faded flannel pajamas. His favorite hobbies were playing with squeaky toys, shedding, and creating magnificent poop piles that he ran from as quickly as possible with a huge grin.
