CaliforniaGreys
Again, I cannot thank you all enough for the out pour of good wishes for my River. He is in really good spirits tonight... ate his small dinner (being careful after the diarrhea), went for a short walk, and isn't lame. I could not wish for more right now!!! ............then you won't mind if I wish for more, would you? I wish this will be resolved with a diagnosis of soft tissue trauma. Sending all of the most healing white light from the far reaches of the universe to River. Hugs to you. We're all here waiting with you. Ditto! Guest FLT
You probably spoke with Dr. Marin - she has a very thick accent that I also found hard to understand, but there is no doubt that she is very knowledgeable and helpful :-) Glad to hear River was not lame on your walk.. I'll keep going with the white light and positive thoughts, and hope you get great news from Dr. Couto himself on Monday. FL Who was the "assistant" that you spoke to? Dr. Lili Marin and Dr. Sara Zaldivar have been working for Dr. Couto for a long time. I would think they would be excellent at detecting osteo on xrays. If it was one of them, definitely rest easy. He has a new resident, Dr. Urie. I don't know how much experience she has with osteo. If you talked with a vet tech or vet student, then they would have checked with one of the vets before making any comments to you. Hope this info helps. They are an excellent team. Jane I didn't catch her name, I'm afraid... she had a very strong accent and I was straining to understand her. I caught the most important part though... that she hadn't seen any obvious lesions. I agree with what you're saying about the shape of the swelling not matching the bone in the Xray. Maybe that's a good sign??? I pray it is!!!!! Again, I cannot thank you all enough for the out pour of good wishes for my River. He is in really good spirits tonight... ate his small dinner (being careful after the diarrhea), went for a short walk, and isn't lame. I could not wish for more right now!!! MerlinsMum
I have been so busy at work that I completely missed this thread and have just read it all in one go. I am so sorry to hear that you're going through this, Annie! Waiting until Monday sounds excruciating, but so far there seems to be reason for at least a little optimism. Of course you're his mum, so I'm sure you won't be able to breathe easily until Dr. Couto gets back to you with a definite diagnosis. Hang in there :grouphug I'm glad that at least River doesn't have bad diarrhea anymore. Sending all the good thoughts in the world and keeping all my fingers crossed for you and River! Guest Vinnie
Hi Annie - Adding more prayers from here for sweet River. I am definitely no expert but the xray does not look anything like Vinnie's early x-rays - the best description I can give is that his bones almost looked moth eaten and I do not see that in River's x-ray. I hope Dr. Cuoto can put your mind completely at ease today. Sending good thoughts, hugs and scritches.
