When I get one and react, it takes weeks for the hard swelling to go down. It's really painful too. You know my Goldie came in one day with a similar bump and the vet determined it was a snake bite. Lucky it was one where it didn't inject any significant venom and he got well quick. It did look like River's bump though and was in almost the exact same place. You have any snakes up there? Give them all hugs and kisses from their KY connection.
