she's being hand fed, but at least she's eating.

Of course Loca needs to be hand fed! That's a given!

Seriously, mine wouldn't eat for diddly if they were at vet's office, either. I hope she's feeling better with all of it soon, the poor baby!

finally heard from the vet's office. i guess loca really pulled out her shoulder (not her back) so she's now on a pain patch and is taking anti-nausea meds along with her antibiotics. she's still eating a bit. she is still confident that there is nothing further involved physically. i get to pick her up after work :yay there goes my long weekend :)

I just read through your thread and WOW! What a roller coaster ride you and Loca have been on! I can only imagine how wiped out you are! The fear of not knowing is the worst! I'm so glad that you get to take Loca home today. I'm sure she will recover much more quickly with TLC at home! Big hugs to you both! :bighug

ok!! she's home! i finally know what happened. she popped her shoulder out so her lack of appetite, etc was completely unrelated to her infection. she has a fenadryl patch stuck to her back leg. i also took home powdered probiotics, a few cans of purina gastroE food (it's the only thing she would eat), anti nausea meds and a large syringe in case she becomes dehydrated again. the vet said her shoulder should be back to normal by Tuesday. now that she's rehydrated, she keeps needing to go out to pee, but that's ok :)

thanks all so much for your good wishes and positive thoughts. let's hope i'm stuck with this little bratface for a long time :beatheart

Glad to hear she's doing ok. Did they also give her an anti-inflamatory for any swelling around the area? My guy used to pull muscles in and around the shoulder all the time, as he'd come down so hard on his front legs when playing. The vet always gave him tramadol for pain, and deramaxx to help reduce any swelling. (After the second time he had a problem, I always kept the meds handy.) Thank goodness that's all it was.
