I think that's a good question. IIRC gentamicin is used for Alabama rot. In that case, you're talking about saving the dog's life, but still worth asking. There's also Zeniquin, same class as Baytril (and even more $$$) ....... Yuppers and also used during that really nasty sickness that rolled through about 8 or so years ago. I want to second the use of some sort of cranberry tabs. Also more fluids too. When I have found a hound that doesn't seem to respond properly to a certain antibiotic I basically give them all of the antibiotics from all the families. I figure one of them will knock it out I know it's hard dealing with all this and feeling like there is something greater that your missing. robinw Posted May 14, 2009 Author Share Posted May 14, 2009 loca is doing very poorly today. she's been panting, she barely moved when i took her out and she seemed unsteady on her back legs and she ouldn't take her meds that were put in pill pockets. i gave her some metacam for her discomfort. she seems to go so up and down . back to the vet, i guess.
