I'm glad she stayed cool through the night. How did you bring her temp down? I've never had to do that before, I'd like to learn how you did it.

Because there's no bathtub, I just soaked a bunch of towls and continued to wet her down, that's the only thing I could think of.Right or wrong, it worked.

I wonder if she has some underlying infection like a UTI? Cushing dogs also run warm.....Nevada always seemed a little warmer than normal. She would do more panting in the warmer weather than she did pre-cushings.

I remember you telling me they tend to run hot, and of course our weather is a bit confused, we're back in the 90's. Misty has always been prone to UTI's. We were at the vet this morning and she's on 10 days of Baytril.

Cool, wet towels is good!

I've had good luck wetting down with wet towels and then taking them off so I can aim a fan at the wet skin. That seems to speed up cooling. Some people use rubbing alcohol instead of water but I've had good luck with just the wet towels, wet dog, and the fan.

Just seeing this newest Misty problem. Good thinking to wet her down with towels.

Hope you both have a peaceful night.

For Nevada's Mom - I don't recall seeing what meds Nevada took for Cushings? I've been nominated to be a Welcome Host to the Canine Cushings Yahoo Group and I'm gathering sighthound related Cushings and treatment information to educate myself futher.

Glad to hear Misty may just have an UTI...

How's THE girl doing? I think today is her medicine day, so I'm checking in (well, I check in more frequently than just Mondays  ).

Misty handled her meds well yesterday. No more fevers and yes, it was a UTI which Baytril usually knocks out for her. Two more weeks and we're ready for the stimulation test. I sure wish she would put on some weight though

Ditto, hows my Cali Grey Girlie?
