carronstar
Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers for Cricket. I can never remember the name of it but the injection version of Glucosamine/Chondroitin seems to work wonders with arthritis. Fingers, toes, eyes all crossed that Cricket is all better ASAP. tamborine
Oh no. I'm so sorry. I know it's not really any consolation, but I know just how you feel....starting in Dec. '05, I lost Odd Cat, Tammy and Royal, in the space of 6 months. It sucks. Don't worry about being strong enough - you will be, for your baby Cricket. Whatever decisions you make will be the right ones, because you're making them out of love. grey14me
I'm so sorry I agree about weighing whether or not to do the biopsy...they're very painful and can also weaken the bone, causing a fracture... HopeForHounds
I'm going to PM you, but I amposting this here so others can have the information. Contact OSU and have Dr Couto and his team look at the results. OSU no longer does bone biopsies. Dr C recommends doing a fine needle bone aspirate. The results are just as accurate, and way less painful and less invasive. It also does not rist damaging an already unstable bone. Guest greytloves
You and Cricket will be on my prayer list. I know what that absolute pain and fear feels like for you, I wish I knew you or lived by you, close enough to just come over and cry with you and hug you. The prospect of losing two in such a short time is so scary. Lets pray that Cricket can overcome this or at least slow it down where she can live out her life with your help and love. dante2zoe
I am so sorry to read about the diagnosis. You will do what is best for your pup. However, please, please, please make sure that you take care of yourself, too. While I haven't had to experience cancer with my dogs (and doG help me if I do) I have gone down that path with my son. (thank goodness, he is doing well, but it hasn't been 5 years and I will never be able to take a deep breath again) IT SUCKS. It is overwhelming, scary and emotionally debilitating at times. In my mind, it makes no difference whether your child is of skin or fur, 2 legs or 4. My heart goes out to you at this time. Just take care of yourself - you won't do Cricket any good if you don't.
