  1. So much heartbreak in a short time. I am so sorry.
  2. Is there any way to test to see if the infections are receding? I.e., that the antibiotics are actually doing the job? If they are shown to be working, then I'd probably redo blood and urine, and maybe explore having an abdomenal ultrasound, to rule anything extra out, but this isn't based on experience, just what my instincts would be. Hope things turn around for Loka soon Robin.
  3. Good for Elsie! And now mom can relax and concentrate on the really important stuff (spoiling)
  4. Beautiful Misty. Claudia, I am so, so sorry.
  5. Poor Loca. Hope the new meds do the trick and she's back to her usual (and unusual) pranks soon!
  6. Claudia, I am so, so sorry. Praying for better news than you are expecting, and if that is not to be, then for Misty to leave on her journey peacefully, and for the strength you need to send her on her way. I am lighting a long-burning candle for both of you right now.
  7. Robin I don't have suggestions regarding tests - except maybe to culture to ensure the chosen antibiotic will for sure kill the bacteria. FWIW I recently changed Rickie over from Orijen Senior to Wellness Core Reduced Fat. Partly for the lower fat content, partly because it has lower phosphorus and ash levels so hopefully easier on the kidneys. (Don't now how it would compare to California Natural.) Please keep us posted.
  8. I would get any growth that is changing / bleeding to the vet - can you reschedule the appoinment for sooner?
  9. Maybe contact the manufacturer and ask them? This would be the corn holy grail if it worked.
  10. This is the best news to wake up to !
  11. Alan is flying to the Bridge on wings of love. My heart goes out to you and your family.
  12. I don't know if this would be applicable in Diamond's case, but after Rickie had his skin moved from his abdomen to his leg, we alternated warm and cold compresses - the warm was to increase circulation which helps keep skin alive. The cold was for inflamation. I got one of the pliable microwavable compresses at the pharmacy and applied it for 10 - 15 minutes periodically through the day.
  13. We never stop missing them, do we. Hugs to you.

What a beautiful face. I am so sorry you lost your precious girl so soon.
  15. Hope Diamond continues to heal, that each day is a little better.
  16. My current favourite is MalAcetic Otic from DemaPet. I get it at the vet but you can probably get it on-line in the US. It smells a bit like vinegar, and daily ear cleaning for a week or so when there is an issue, then weekly maintenance, has kept Arlie's problem ear under control.
  17. How awful - sending prayers Diamond recovers fully from her wounds. I agree with others - this owner is completely irresponsible to be letting an aggressive dog loose without even a muzzle, and she should be held accountable for the consequences. Consider as well that in addition to the cost of the immediate vet care, there will probably be follow-on rehab, etc., to be taken care of. Hugs to you both.
  18. Just seeing this now - what a terrible thing to happen. So glad Rocky has started to eat. We will be praying the pain meds allow him to feel better so he can heal.
  19. Whatever the reason, this is very heartening news!! Here's hoping the improvement continues.
  20. All fingers and paws crossed here for Isabella.
  21. That is very welcome news!! Hope the next weeks go smoothly and Maggie returns to her old self!
  22. Sending prayers of hope and healing for Maggie.
  23. My girl is on something called Propalin. It's a liquid. Original dosing was 6cc twice per day, we have gotten it down to 2cc twice per day and I will try 1.5 now that we are back from Sandy Paws. Does anyone know, is this the same, in terms of active ingredients, as Proin?
