Moxidectin seems to be what works - it's an ingredient in Advantage Multi but not in Interceptor.

It's not without risk - Dr Castro (FB page Getting Rid of Parasites in Greyhounds) recommends it as a solution of last resort only.

Almost never here too - maybe one proper bath in the summer, but that's usually about it. As others have said, brushing and nail trimming are the only things we regularly do.

I haven't read the entire thread, so apologies if this has been suggested, but canned tripe is irresistible to hounds here, even those a bit under the weather. And being as . . . aromatic . . . as it is, you don't need to add a lot to their meal to make it appetizing. Keeps well, well covered in the fridge, and does not need to be heated to be appealing, which is a very good thing : ) We get Tripett, but there may be other brands.

These are what we use as well. Hounds have had no chaffing or other irritation.

Ask for an itemized breakdown of the cost and go from there. The range you're quoting suggests the vet is doing additional things while changing the bandage. The vet providing treatment or an assistant should be able to both provide the breakdown and walk you through it, so you understand the treatment being provided for your cat.

All these plans have a maximum coverage level, which may explain why Healthy Paws, Trupanion and maybe others who do not have a ceiling were not included.

Cyanide poisoning is also possible with cherries - similar to plums, the pits contain cyanide and I recently read the stems and leaves do as well.

My understanding is that, unlike with people, the drug can be taken by dogs with food, unless, as pointed out above, a specific thyroid blood test is being done.

Praziquantel may do the trick. Ask your vet about it. It's the anti-tapeworm ingredient in Interceptor Plus but is also available on its own from human pharmacies (and maybe some vets, no idea) and can be used in conjunction with preventatives like Advantage Multi, for example.

FWIW, depending on the strength of the chlorhexadine it can be an irritant. We have some wipes that are 4% and can't be used more than every few days. In between I spray colloidal silver on whatever it is that I'm treating.
