  1. Prayers for Pogo. What Dr at UW is doing the amputation?
  2. Annette, Is a primary bone lesion for sure Osteo? I'm not familiar with that term. Good luck on Tuesday at UW. They are phenomenal....
  3. We always give Pepcid AC or the generic Famotidine at night when on low dose aspirin.
  4. Did Dr. Couto recommend a half of 81mg? That dose use to be the one he used. Just curious if he's changed dosage.
  5. UW Madison Veterinary Hospital!!!! They are the most compassionate, skilled people I have ever met. I have met with the Oncology team, Orthopedic team, Dentistery team, and all were phenomenal. Costs were in line, nothing extreme. Please let me know if I can be of any help with who to contact. I would be happy to help.
  6. Tracy, that's what I thought too. If something was lodged in her throat, could they do the honking/hack cough? It just stopped so quickly, which I am greatful, but I'm hoping it isn't KC.
  7. I had to take Grace to the E Vet Wednesday night as she started "honking"/coughing in the afternoon and continued as I took her to the Vet. She diagnosed her with Kennel Cough. She pressed somewhere on her throat and she did the honking cough. She put her on Doxy so it doesn't turn into anything else. She also gave her Tussigon pills. Thursday morning she woke up and hasn't honked/coughed since. Could it have been something else or can KC respond that quickly to the Doxy/Tussigon?
  8. Annabelly, you did the right thing!!!! I took my black lab to UW Madison and he had over 1/2 of the upper jaw removed. His tumor was so big that it was growing behind the eye socket. Yes, it was bad after we brought him home as there was pain and discomfort. But it has been 1 1/2 years and he is doing GREYT!!!! The oral surgeon said it was the largest tumor he's removed. The tumor was studied by 5 different pathologists at UW Madison and they could not come up with a definite cancer diagnosis. 2 said yes, 3 said no. His scan of the rest of the body was negative for any mets. So we brought him home and are just loving him. He was 10 when we did the surgery. I don't regret it for 1 minute.
  9. I have used a small amount of Carob powder and water mixed. It worked wonders. I gave it 2x a day. Instead of raw meat, maybe you could try Stella and Chewys dehydrated raw. It's amazing.
  10. Another vote to keep it moist and wrapped. Been through it and we kept it covered seems like forever but I did heal.
  11. Pulsing antibiotics would be a great idea until you are able to get a dental done. I would check with the adoption agency and see if they could possibly help with the cost of the dental. Doesn't hurt to ask....please keep us posted on any updates
  12. If you can, have her send the blood to Michigan State Unicersity. They have one of the best labs for canine thyroid panels. You can also pay a small amount more and get an Endocrinologist to interpret the results.
  13. What really helped us was staying away from chicken and converting them to Stella and Chewys dehydrated raw. They are in the shape of a small puck and it truly firmed their stools up. It's a tad expensive, but cheaper than going to the vet all the time.
  14. Has your Vet ever prescribed Flagyl (Metronidazole) for your pups diarrhea? I would definitely recommend a course of that and then the probiotic. When we first adopted Dylan, we had a heck of a time getting his stools firm, but we did. Good luck. Give your Vet a call today and get the Rx.
  15. You can order the Purina Forta Flora on Amazon. Good luck and keep us posted.
  16. I would try probiotic like Purina's Forta Flora. It helped Dylan's diarrhea immensely.
  17. Bed time snack will do it. We gave Dylan either a few treats or a small amount of kibble.
  18. So do you think the Soresto did not work since he came home with fleas? I'm also confused what to use....
  19. Gave Sentinel to Daisy and Dylan for years without any side effects. Heartguard gave them both diarrhea. It's amazing to me that the same breed of dogs can have such opposite effects.
  20. My psychiatrist explained that Wellbutrin can actually make anxiety worse in humans, that's why she does not prescribe it for anxiety, but for depression. Not sure about dogs.
