  1. SLO takes a long time to respond to medications. I would not put a 12 yr old out to cut back nails. I think you are asking for infections.
  2. If they have gas from a dog food, it doesn't live at my house.
  3. I would not use Proin but that is me. She's old and she's going to have sleep turds and oops turds! Chiropractic and/or acupuncture will help a lot regarding the incontinence.
  4. I did a search and found that some people have been told verbally product will be available in August
  5. She is gorgeous! I hope when my time comes I have a friend who will do the same for me.....

  7. I am so sad to hear this I remember when you got him -- seems like last year.... Sending hugs & sympathy
  8. Do panacur for 5 days in a row. What I did with Buffy was panacur for 5 days, wait two weeks and repeat. So far so good. Do not worm for tape unless you see segments!
  9. Surreal for sure. It seems like I've "known" her forever, even though I haven't met her in person. Sending my sympathy & hugs
  10. Sending prayers. When the platelets are crashing, you do give a pred shot in the hopes of pulling them up. I've had a few pulled from death's door with doxy and pred.
  11. They need to give him a shot of doxy and start oral doxy at 5mg/# of body weight twice a day. Also I shot of pred.

  14. Sending healing thoughts & prayers for Bruiser!
  15. I would go to the specialist asap. SieSie had one years ago. She learned to use the cone as a weapon
  16. You have to know your dog. When I've had a senior I've done a free T4 only. I have medicated one at .8 and others not until they are under .4 with symptoms. They can either need to lose weight or gain weight. You can also have a sick thyroid which means something else is going on. Most of the dogs I do a free T4 on are at least 11 or older and if I choose to medicate, they have symptoms and nothing else is showing up. With the older ones, I strive for quality of life. With Isaac, because I was not comfortable medicating without the full panel, we did a full panel at Michigan. It was kind of inconclusive and two vets indicated (one is an alternative vet) that we should go ahead and try. If I had a young one, I'd definetely do a full panel.
  17. Don't have a clue but I know a thyroid deficient dog will have bouts of fear/panic for instance, when thunder starts. This is my opinion only but if I had a dog that has gone 3 years with no improvement, if her free T4 was under 1, I'd try thyroid meds. This is a not a fun existance that is being explained. I also would have already tried Chomicalm. I believe Angell is a vet clinic
  18. Ask for a tranquillizer to give her before you go to the vet. I assume she has had a thyroid panel done?
  19. Sending lots of prayers. What a sweet face
  20. Boiled or roast beef, ground buffalo, ground turkey. Wellness no grain canned food or EVO canned. Warm it up in the microwave a tad. If she would eat 2 cans of EVO a day with the cookies she'd probably be ok. Honest Kitchen (some stores have the $3 box samples) Hawaiian sweet rolls, lorna doone cookies, all beef hot dogs, tuna in oil mixed with kibble. Can you go to the food store & get samples? Usually Saturdays are good for samples at Petco (not sure about the others). Offer her something different every time I have also had to boil chicken or turkey, then fry it in butter and hand feed. Peanut butter, ritz crackers How long do you have her?
  21. They had one batch where the fish was added in incorrect levels. Took my bag back and they replaced it. New batches are fine.
