  1. I am so sorry, I know it was hard, but you did what was best for Buck
  2. She's beautiful I love the shiny black ones. Broodies are extra special
  3. Slumber balls if you have a roacher and the Costco bolster beds if he likes a head rest Both are very sturdy and hold up well to digging.
  4. Yes, his stinky breath is probably from his teeth. You can try brushing/cleaning/scraping them yourself, but at this point, whatever you get off probably isn't going to make much difference. The cost varies widely depending on location and whether or not he needs extractions. I am guessing in rural Fla you would be on the lower end, but don't really know. I understand the reluctance to put him under, but there may be more going on than just tartar build up, an abscess, gum disease, a bad tooth. All of these things will ultimately affect his overall health, and he will feel so much better afterwards! So yes, a vet visit would be the first step, good luck.
  5. I am so sorry He knows how much you loved him
  6. I just wanted to add, soft tissue injuries can take forever to heal. Two weeks leash walking would barely begin to start the healing process. So, I would give the NSAIDs and be prepared to be patient.
  7. Aw, a lap dog :beatheart what a sweetie!
  8. I don't bandage with EMT gel. It makes a kind of skin over the wound, so I just leave it. I figure, if the gel doesn't stop the bleeding and it needs to be bandaged, then it needs more than the EMT gel, if that makes sense. I hope Sweep feels better soon!
  9. That is a stunning photo of a beautiful girl. I am so sorry for your loss
  10. I am so sorry The "special" ones can drive you crazy, but that makes the hole they leave that much bigger
  11. I hope it is nothing, good to get it removed and checked in any case.
  12. I am not a training & behavior expert, but I wanted to say I am glad you are giving greyhounds another chance. It sounds like Ace was a very non typical greyhound. You will probably be watching your new girl closely, looking for any signs that she is acting like your previous dog (understandable), but if she is a typical greyhound, you will soon see the differences. I hope everything goes smoothly this time!
  13. They can be useful for small dogs (imo they are not strong enough for larger dogs) but most people don't use them properly. Only let your dog run ahead on the extended leash in an open area where you can Be Sure there are no other loose dogs, etc. The big thing is, pay attention to your dog! Not saying *you* would do any of this, but most of the problems with flexi leads are people letting their dogs run out at the end of the leash and not paying attention to what the dog is doing, or watching what is going on around them. You have almost no control of the dog when the leash is fully extended, or the ability to react to an attack from a loose dog. I assume you are thinking of using it with your new little pumpkin, not Ruby
  14. I think she looks more like a Jessie than a Cleo glad things are going well!
