  1. I have had Sugar on pred, off & on, for the last 6 mothds or so for her back issues with no problems.
  2. I am so sorry. It is always just a little bit harder (if that is possible) when you know they would stay longer for your sake.
  3. I'm in! virtual pizza (and real wine) for Loca!
  4. I haven't seen this posted, but I'm not on GT as much as I used to be, so sorry if it's a duplicate The American Animal Hospital Assoc (AAHA) and the Assoc. of American Feline Practitioners have produced a document on identifying pain and pain management. It's available online. I've just skimmed it, but it looks helpful and I'm going to print it out to read and have on hand. http://www.aahanet.org/PublicDocuments/Pai...tGuidelines.pdf

    Oh I am so sorry
  7. Sugar has delt with back issues for about the last 6 months. When she has a really bad spell (the worst was the day before Thanksgiving she could barely stand, couldn't walk at all) both the ER vet and my vet said she could have 1-2 50 mg Tramadol, 3-4 times a day. She was also put on pred. I gave her 1 Tramadol 4 times a day for the first few days. It took her a couple of days (2-3?) to really start to feel better. Acupuncture has helped, also Adequan shots. I can see the concern about them feeling better and reinjuring, but for the first few days, getting the pain under control is more important. Just my , not a vet! Hoping poor Otis feels better soon!
  8. He looks like he has made a LOT of progress in a very short time! He is such a handsome fellow continued for a full recovery.
  9. Sounds like neck/back to me too. As someone with back problems, I know that the slightest wrong move can send you from fine to stabbibg pain (then back to fine ) If that's it, the metacam should help. that's all it is
