  2. one of the hardest things in a situation like Bailey's is not knowing! I hope you can get some answers. You are taking such good care of her, she knows how much you love her.
  3. Have you ever tried acupuncture? Don't know if it would help in Angel'w case, but Sugar started peeing on her bed (only at night) when her arthritis and back end problems got so bad last fall. I didn't want to put her on (more) medication as she already takes heart meds (3) thyroid meds (1) pain meds (1) pepcid and glucosamine! I mentioned to her acupuncturist that she was having problems, and she said I'll add some "pee points" It worked! She will still have a bad night now and then if her arthritis flares up, so I keep washable incontinence pads on all the dog beds, but now it's once or twice a month, not once or twice a night! Sugar is also 12.
  4. I hope she continues to improve! It's a lot of work, but if it makes her feel better, so worth it!
  5. Sugar felt better right away, and I never saw a bad reaction, but sometimes it does seem make her tired for a day or two. As an aside, she also has heart problems and the vet has hit a few heart points each time (as well as "pee points" for her incontinence ) When she went to her cardiologist in March, her enlarged heart had actually shrunk a bit. Enough that he reduced the dosage on her meds I don't know what else it could have been, if not the acupuncture . I know acupuncture doesn't work for everyone, but it sure has helped Sugar!
  6. I am so glad he's home! I am sure that will help with the stress and anxeity (his and yours )

  8. Poor Baily! I have just read through all this (so I don't repeat). I had a lot of trouble getting my Sugar to eat last fall when she was having spinal issues. She would usually drink a vanilla Ensure. Not the best nutrition, but it got some liquids and some calories in her. The acupuncture will take some time (at least a few treatments) to show results, but it should help the pain, and it helped Sugar's appetite as well. I know how your back feels, I did my share of carrying her up and down the steps I hope she starts to feel better!
