  1. I am so sorry She may not have had typical "tortie-tude" by she obviously had a ton of personality.
  2. Not exactly greyhound related, but my mother had glaucoma and had that tube to relieve the pressure, and it was a big help.
  3. So glad she is home! Whatever the problem, and sometimes we never know, I hope she well from now on.
  4. Just catching up, I am so sorry things did not go as smoothly as we hoped! I know it is hard to leave her, but it is the best thing for her. Hopefully they will have some answers, or at least a good update in the morning and she can go home.
  5. Might take a little longer with the extra extractions, but just think how much better she will feel! Sallie lost all her upper molars a couple of years ago and it hasn't slowed her down much, although I do cut her turkey necks into smaller pieces
  6. :goodluck it is always stressful, but soon it will be over and you'll have her back home!
  7. Tempts me to sign up, especially since I just paid last months Visa which was twice the usual amount because of Charley's vet bills.
  8. OK, the Iams is giving him decent poop, but good lord the amount! I am used to small firm poop from my raw fed dogs. I knew kibble would produce more, um, product, but wow. I am wondering if a grain free kibble would be less? Anyone know?
  9. Poor Mazy! Hope this treatment fixes her up and she feels better soon.
  10. That attitude has got to be a big part of her recovery! You go girl!
  11. Thanks! He could definitely use a few more pounds although I don't want to overdo it. He is recovering from a broken hock (end of Sept) so his activity is still somewhat restricted. I will see how he does on 4c for a week or so.
  12. I hope colorful poop and farts are all you have to deal with!
  13. So glad she is home, and making such excellent progress!
  14. Thanks! He is a bouncy 2.5 yr old, I think I will up it to 4c for now. Plus a few treats, of course
  15. I am so sorry It is amazing how quickly the old ones become a part of your life, and how big a hole they leave
  16. This is what I have picked to feed the foster (and it is working great) but I am not sure how much to feed. I am using the small bites, and he weighs about 70# I guessed about three cups a day, but he is pretty skinny, so maybe a little more?
  17. I have heating pads for both the cats and dogs (for warmth, not arthritis). I got ones designed for animals because they don't get too warm. It is my understanding that human heating pads can get too hot for dogs, that they shouldn't get over 102 F. I see the one you are looking at has a low setting, that might be alright. I do think it would be a help for Doc, and probably feel really good!
  18. I am so sorry, I wish I didn't know exactly how you feel Try not to dwell on the "if I had done this, or hadn't done that" You did what you thought was best for him at the time, that is all you can do. After awhile, you will stop seeing only his last few days and be able to remember all the good times. I lost my girl Charley just before Thanksgiving, so I am going through all of this too
  19. Oh, a pretty shiny black girl! My favorite
  20. I'll just add another vote for the Iams green bag My personal dog(s) are raw fed, but I recently got a foster and decided to use the Iams for him. Poops are still a bit mushy, but improving daily! I don't do the gradual switch either. My thinking is, if I am switching foods because the original wasn't working for the dog, why keep feeding it? Never had any problems. Good luck!
  21. Eating, especially eating at the vets, is a good sign!
