  1. Thanks everyone, I've got my elf(ves)! Maybe our elf volunteers would like an ornament or a little something-something?
  2. I've got three, can you help me? Let's get going, tho it's not snowing!
  3. Johnny would eat coleslaw and sauerkraut, so another possibility!
  4. Yeah, I was like, my next grey won't be sleeping in the bed...Fuzzy has made it clear she is cold and won't settle unless she can get up there...Now Roman wants to join the warmth, but a full size bed+2 galoots+one red girl doesn't work. G will sneak on the bed if he has to stay gated in the bedroom for a while.
  5. In for both! I know postage has gone up, up, up! But you guys are worth it.
  6. Aww, sweetie, very gentle skritches and ear rubbies. G's (former) vet was reluctant to give him a dental due to the sedation, finally got one in December after fighting about the Amicar.
  7. How old is she? Any documented racing injuries or a significant time break in racing history? I would get a second opinion, blood work-up (based on GREYHOUND values), x-ray entire spine and front legs. There are alternative methods to treat pain and inflammation, but I would make sure every thing else is within normal limits.
  8. Ellen, are they still working on 81 by you? Could it be something echoing down the mountains? Or neighbors with something ultrasonic? Perhaps pain issues? He associate "house" with "pain" and feels better outside. G takes gabapentin, I had to get a second opinion for x-rays and found a bad hip (along with his sensitive feet!). Cold laser and chiro has helped him immensely, he lets me get things out of his feet on walks, where he used to try to shred me to pieces.
  9. Roman is not content to let Fuzzy do all the forecasting. Today he stretched out in the afternoon sun for the first time since it got warm here. It's a pleasant 80 something today with low humidity, very unseasonal for us--but he says winter is just around the corner!
  10. I guess it ranks right up there with stepping on a cold, rotten persimmon.
  11. There's lots of folklore about how to predict winter weather: https://www.almanac.com/winter-weather-folklore I'd like to add another: If Fuzzy covers her nose in summer, winter weather will be a bummer! She has been tucking her nose under her tail and paws, my butt, the covers, pillows...everything and anything. She is such a funny, but freezing, girl!
  12. That was our golden's favorite thing! Box turtles, then digging up moles, and attempting toads. Never did learn that toads are NOT FOR DOGS.
  13. Oh, geez, the dreaded sweet-gum ball. Source of much pain for G and myself. He's gotten better, he does hold up the paw and let me get it out without trying to rip me to pieces. Fuzzy usually gets her own out, and Roman will walk around with one stuck in his foot until we get in the house and he takes it out himself. He doesn't even care!
  14. Elizabeth, we're willing to help out if you find one w/a group in SC/NC or GA. Just let me know a few days in advance!
  15. Yes, muzzles for everyone, it doesn't take much to hook a tooth wrong, and then you get a big vet bill. (ask me how I know )
  16. It stands for "butt duster", which is a standard grey feature.
  17. No doom-claws here, either! And a bunch of ear talkers. Of course, much doofus-ing.
  18. YEAH, DOOLIN! I call my brown tabby girl Doodlebug as well. She's got a million nicknames. Johnny's noise aversion was to small engines, and sometimes fireworks. If people set them off in the neighborhood, it was a no-go.
