  1. Ellen, are they still working on 81 by you? Could it be something echoing down the mountains? Or neighbors with something ultrasonic? Perhaps pain issues? He associate "house" with "pain" and feels better outside. G takes gabapentin, I had to get a second opinion for x-rays and found a bad hip (along with his sensitive feet!). Cold laser and chiro has helped him immensely, he lets me get things out of his feet on walks, where he used to try to shred me to pieces.
  2. Roman is not content to let Fuzzy do all the forecasting. Today he stretched out in the afternoon sun for the first time since it got warm here. It's a pleasant 80 something today with low humidity, very unseasonal for us--but he says winter is just around the corner!
  3. I guess it ranks right up there with stepping on a cold, rotten persimmon.
  4. There's lots of folklore about how to predict winter weather: https://www.almanac.com/winter-weather-folklore I'd like to add another: If Fuzzy covers her nose in summer, winter weather will be a bummer! She has been tucking her nose under her tail and paws, my butt, the covers, pillows...everything and anything. She is such a funny, but freezing, girl!
  5. That was our golden's favorite thing! Box turtles, then digging up moles, and attempting toads. Never did learn that toads are NOT FOR DOGS.
  6. Oh, geez, the dreaded sweet-gum ball. Source of much pain for G and myself. He's gotten better, he does hold up the paw and let me get it out without trying to rip me to pieces. Fuzzy usually gets her own out, and Roman will walk around with one stuck in his foot until we get in the house and he takes it out himself. He doesn't even care!
  7. Elizabeth, we're willing to help out if you find one w/a group in SC/NC or GA. Just let me know a few days in advance!
  8. Yes, muzzles for everyone, it doesn't take much to hook a tooth wrong, and then you get a big vet bill. (ask me how I know )
  9. It stands for "butt duster", which is a standard grey feature.
  10. No doom-claws here, either! And a bunch of ear talkers. Of course, much doofus-ing.
  11. YEAH, DOOLIN! I call my brown tabby girl Doodlebug as well. She's got a million nicknames. Johnny's noise aversion was to small engines, and sometimes fireworks. If people set them off in the neighborhood, it was a no-go.
  12. CONGRATS!! (did you stop and get him some good Memphis BBQ?) I notice he's got Jimbo Scotty in his pedigree, I know we've had a few dogs on GT with noise issues in that line. Johnny was one of them. Just something to look out for!
  13. Dear Punkin, 'tis. No braces for this poor kid growing up. SMILE!
  14. As you can see, he's related to Fuzzy! She is a super sweet girl with a naughty streak, so maybe that holds the same! OF course, us enablers will tell you to get both and have a household full of Mayhem.
  15. She's absolutely gorgeous and I hope you can get her! Muzzle, baby gates, strict correction, working with a trainer...all good tools in your kit. I will say that Fuzzy is great with INDOOR cats, but wait till she sees a critter outdoors. She even reared up and barked at a bear at MH two years ago.
  16. GTer Bill419 is in Bartlett, he may be able to help you out. Although, Roman was supposed to be "cat trainable", he does need reminding "friends not food!", especially when they run. Still got the puppy brain. Yes, get a black one!
  17. Baby gate if needed, but Fuzzy sleeps with me, Roman on a dog bed, in the bedroom, and G is either in the living room or with us. If he stays down the hall, he'll usually come to the bedroom around sunrise. Roman is the morning alarm clock, he gets whiny. G is dinner and chew bone time alarm, he'll bark at me if I don't move fast enough. Fuzzy prefers comfort and sleep! If they need a middle of the night potty, Roman gets pacey and whiny, G has accidents. Poor guy.
  18. Another Greyt Event in the can! We are so glad we could meet a whole bunch of GT'ers "in da fur". The weather started out stormy and ended quite nicely, with lower humidity than previous years. There were multiple bear sightings, but the pick-a-nik baskets remained undisturbed. See you next year!
  19. NOOO NOT BEAUTIFUL SWEEP! Run pain free, sweet girl.
  20. Fuzzy is all about the scritches, she'll do that, too!
