I'm so sorry. Your video was beautiful, as your Instagram posts have been. Your love for her was evident in everything you did for her, including that last, hardest thing. Rest well, Suki.

Beannachdan And Greetings From Melbourne, Florida
ramonaghan replied to a topic in Introductions & Biography
Greetings from Nashville to you and your lovely girls! -
Sorry about the bite! Hope Carter feels better soon. Yes, Pepcid can be given twice a day. I give a 10mg Pepcid 30-60 min before a meal or snack, then give the Rx meds on a full belly.

Glad she's doing better and home with you. Here's hoping you have an uneventful weekend and she's back to 100% soon!

The Dog Who Ain't Rite: Paddy Mayhem's 8Th B'day
ramonaghan replied to FiveRoooooers's topic in Remembrance
Cheers to the legendary Paddy, and hugs to his mom. -
Thanks for sharing this! I make homemade Frosty Paws with yogurt, honey, and applesauce (most recipes call for bananas, but Sweep's not a fan). This sounds like a good variation to try. She loves watermelon.

Bravecto And Ticks....we Found A Bugger On Her
ramonaghan replied to a topic in Health and Medical discussion
This past weekend I found a tick on Sweep for the first time ever, thankfully before it had bitten. She's been on Bravecto for a couple of years now. My understanding of how it works is the same as XTRAWLD's (and that it kills them before they can infect the dog with anything), so I'm not too worried about it and will continue to use it. Still grossed me out though! -
Thundershirt Sizing For Greyhounds
ramonaghan replied to Melly's topic in Training and Behavior discussion
Just now seeing this, but Sweep is 63 lbs and the L is very snug and short on her, so XL was a good call! -
You can also try oatmeal instead of rice. Sweep prefers it (she begs for it when she's not ill), and it also works quickly to firm up her stools. Just be sure to make it with water, not milk. Continued good thoughts to Peggy.

Poor Peggy. It's so distressing when they're that pitiful and you feel helpless. Hopefully she'll turn the corner soon. Diluted Pedialyte and low-sodium broth are both good ideas.

How Loud And Scary Is A Greyhound's Bark?
ramonaghan replied to Wantsagrey's topic in Training and Behavior discussion
Wish I could train Sweep to do it on command, because I think her bark is pretty impressive. -
Welcome! Both your boys are gorgeous. I look forward to reading more about them (and seeing more pics, of course!).

I always give Sweep a 10mg Pepcid (though I think 20mg is fine for greyhounds) 30-60 minutes before she eats and gets her Previcox. Speaking of which, she's been taking that off and on for at least 18 months now, and bloodwork two weeks ago was perfect! She'll be 8 in October. Every dog is different, but I hope that gives you some reassurance about adding NSAIDs to the mix. Her wonky toe is incredibly stiff from her old injury + arthritis, and a Previcox every other day keeps her walking normally and doing stairs comfortably. (ETA: Like cleptogrey, our dosing schedule varies with weather and activity; she had several weeks late last fall where she didn't need anything at all.) Scritches and best wishes to Ryder!

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. My thoughts and prayers will be with Richard, Rudy and Cole, and the rest of her family and friends. Rest well, Jessica.
