  1. Elf to elf, this is what I've found useful: https://www.rhymezone.com/
  2. Miss Vanessa and Gino, keep your eyes on the mail. Santa's first gift of many has now set sail. It should arrive by the end of November You can open it then or on the 25th of December.
  3. @EllenEveBaz Ellen, Santa would love to know if any foods are a big no go. Do you avoid sugar or wheat? What foods do you hate to eat? (This is for you, not Milo. Santa's got him covered, though!)
  4. @2greyhoundMINI Please do answer quick: What gifts should Santa pick for dear Carmen and you? We don't want Christmas to be blue!
  5. Paging @celbee: please reply. Santa's prepping the sleigh to fly!
  6. I have it on good authority that you have very cute pictures of your girl from today. Also: way to go, Tessie!
  7. Calling Fuzzy to the elf desk! Santa has a special request: please tell us what you'd like to see in your mailbox or by the tree. Are collars your thing? What treats make you sing? Do you have favorite toys that you hide from those boys? And Miss Vanessa, we must address ya! What would YOU like to see Christmas night? Please answer with haste— there's no time to waste. Santa must hit the shops so that your holiday is tops!
  8. Thankth for all the good info! Santa appreciathe it.
  9. We got Pets Best for Doolin and Willa. Their pricing was very reasonable and they were highly reviewed (in both online articles and in a recent lengthy thread on this topic among my neighbors on Nextdoor ). Haven't had to use them yet, but I found it very appealing that they will cover routine exams, dentals, and even acupuncture and chiropractic depending on the package you choose. We had Healthy Paws for Sweep and never had any bad experiences or huge price hikes like others have reported (they quickly reimbursed 80% of her $24k cancer bills this past year), but they were more expensive for less coverage.
  10. Thank you, Gene— I also like green! One thing I forgot to check: How big around is your neck?
  11. Very glad to hear Fiona is doing so well. Aren't these dogs amazing? I hope you have many more happy days together. Thanks for popping back in to update us!
  12. Jethro, as in the famous Tull, Santa kindly asks you to mull: What presents might you treasure, what flavors bring you pleasure? Are you a fan of peanut butter, cheese, chicken, or some other? How do you feel about furry toys? Do lambs or hedgehogs bring you joy? Do you have a signature hue like ruby red or turquoise blue? We'd also like for you to check: What is the measurement of your neck? As for your mom, the festive Carol, we wouldn't want her holidays in peril. Can you tell us what she prefers: Snacks, jewels, the scent of fur fir? Anything else you can think to add? Are there any gifts that would be bad? Thank you kindly for your advice on how Santa can make this Christmas nice.
  13. Calling Gino, Gene, Eugene Please come to the typing machine. Santa needs your list— you can't be missed— so, please, for what gifts are you keen? Do you like chicken, fish, or treats of cheese? Does peanut butter make you weak in the knees? Is beef still out? Santa had some doubt, so tell us all your preferences, please! And for the hound of many names What's your favorite type of game? Rope toys or stuffies: should they be toughies? Santa wants to make sure they're not lame. Oh, and what sizes do you wear? Does your wardrobe need some flair? Are there colors you like to sport when you hike that make people stop and stare? Finally, we have one last request: tell us what mom Vanessa likes best. Is it coffee or tea, sweets or sugar-free? And is there anything she might detest? Thank you much, our multi-named friend, for whatever ideas you recommend. This elf is rusty, her dictionary dusty, but fortunately you've reached the end.
  14. O Monica O Monica Can you and Carmen tell me O Monica O Monica What would your favorite gifts be? What toys make Carmen happy? What treats would make her smile? O Monica O Monica Tell Santa what's her style. O Monica O Monica Please don't forget yourself O Monica O Monica Thanks from Santa and this elf.
  15. Dashing through the snow With a message for Milo Over the web we go To deliver this memo Milo, we have read you love fresh bunny What gift can Santa send instead (although that'd be funny)? Jingle bells, jingle bells, Jingle all the way What can Santa send to you across the USA? Jingle bells, jingle bells, Jingle all the way Ellen, don't forget to say What gift would make your day.
  16. Happy birthday, Buddy! Twelve is swell! Love your big eyes when you're eating your cake.
  17. I'm so, so sorry for your loss. You gave Sherlock a wonderful life and a perfect last day. I love what your sibling said. In time the good memories will overcome the painful ones and you'll smile thinking of your boy. He'll always be in your heart. Rest well, Sherlock, and send your people a sign when you can. You'll have lots of friends at the bridge to show you the way. Say hi to Sweep for me.
  18. How sad. @Time4ANaphas adopted dogs in the same situation (though I can't recall if it was two at one time). My Doolin was only in a home for a month when his new owner suddenly passed away, so I don't think he'd learned much of the ropes yet. In any event, yes, I do think it'll be much easier with dogs who are adjusted to home life already. Did the owner work outside the home? If so, they're probably used to being alone for a few hours at a time, but they might be a bit anxious initially because they've lost their owner and are likely very confused. And yes to sleeping arrangements—neither of mine do the steep inside stairs yet so they can't sleep in the bedroom with us, but they're okay being downstairs overnight since they have each other. So I say go for it! It'll probably still be at times because it's a new normal for all of you, but I bet it'll be a hugely rewarding experience.
