  1. Walter saw the vet at NGAP. They are pretty sure it was a seizure, and referred to VSEC. No Lyme, rest of bloodwork pending. NGAP says phenobarbital if it happens again.
  2. It's weird as hell to see Walter stressed. Good luck tomorrow. BTW, I'm off at one, so if you go in the afternoon and want an extra body along, or want to dump Ernie here, or need to get drunk after...
  3. For Joe, the first thing he learned was "house" (as in, get your arse in it!). That was unintentional, but may have saved his life the day a pair of free range pit bulls pushed the gate open. Joe did what I told him, I got REALLY BIG AND LOUD and scared them off, and all was well. I also now make sure the gate is properly latched. Brees knows her name, "cookie" and "pee". That is all. She is very pretty, though.
  4. Even Brees, whose prey drive is out of control, recognizes largish babies as humans (she has never seen a brand new one). She's mostly nervous around toddlers. I would never leave her with an unsupervised rugrat, because I'd be afraid the kid would do something dumb and hurt her, or get bonked in the face by a playful snooter. I don't leave her with unknown adults for the same reason. Use common sense and everything will be fine. And on the small dog thing, it took us bringing a wandering shih-tzu home for several days before Brees realized that not all small fuzzies are food. The first night, she barked incessantly at the closed door it & I were behind (after "tasting" it when I first brought it in). By the time we found its people, she knew it was a dog, and now recognizes small dogs as not food.
  5. Oh dear god!! That is a cute critter!
  6. Oh, no! Tricia and Burke, we are so sorry to hear he's gone. Murray was a very good boy.
  7. Joe and Brees fight over the "best" spot on the sofa -- the one between Mommy and Daddy. My legs used to go there. When Joe tosses a stuffy around the living room, the TV remote can't "see" through him, so we can't pause Netflix. On the very rare occasions I pretend to clean, when I put the toys in their bin, Brees must immediately remove each and every one. Over and over, until I give up. Joe looks good in everything.
  8. I want to add that her boys get plenty of attention and exercise. Boyfriend is good with them. Also, Ernie is a bit like Brees. Very sweet, but not much between the ears.
  9. Oh, MP, I'm sorry. You know how I feel about that little beastie. We're going to the vet tomorrow. Joe is lame on the right front. The whimpering scares me more than any GSOD. Package received. I haven't sent anything out yet, including Secret Santa. Was planning on tomorrow, but I'm going to flip out instead. Soon, though.
  10. I am *just* seeing this. Alicia, Sterling, I am so very sorry you lost your wonderful boy.
  11. Wow. Thanks for sharing this. I hate that you all went through this, but am so glad you've gotten this amazing result. Feed that boy some Thrasher's!
  12. Ducky, I'm sorry. He had the sweetest face.
  13. Oh. My. God. Poor cowdoggie!!! He needs ice cream, and maybe for you to spray paint that leg!
  14. Fudge. Not the right word. Fudge. I'm sorry.
  15. Your Froppychops is one of my absolute favorite dogs here. I have no advice, but lots of good wishes for all of you. He just seems like the best damn dog ever.
  16. He's thinking he'll be able to shove himself further under the sofa without the owie leg in the way. I love your boys.
  17. They did. I did. I'm to expect barfing and poop leakage. Fudge. Dad and I made the 15 hour drive from Florida yesterday. I arrived home at 1:30. Sleep at 2:30. Awake at 6:30 -- then bridesmaid crap for the big fat Guate-Paki-Rican wedding all day. I'm so done. The shower is tomorrow. I have to be there at 7:30. Ahhhhhhhh! This should totally be in Soap Box.
  18. Wonderful. This means Brees is going to get a cat tonight and I won't be able to stop the bleeding. Calling the e-vet.
  19. Sigh. At some point today, don't know when, one or both dogs ate an almost full 8 oz bottle of salmon oil. It was intended for them, but not in that quantity. I had hubby google-- he didn't find anything. They seem fine. Reassure me? (Or freak me out. Whichever is warranted.)
  20. Opal was such a special little girl. We miss her, too.
  21. Nothing for you but good wishes! Hope George improves quickly.
