Mine can do 9 hours. I hate it, but they can do it. I come home for lunch daily, but if I go away hubby is alone with them and can't do a trip home for lunch. When my father had bypass surgery, they had to do it for a month and were just fine. Most days, they don't bother getting up when I come home at noon, especially during the winter. When it's nice out, Brees mostly wants to go out to chase squirrels. Lunchtime is more for me than for them. Sounds like the coat might be the trigger with the walker. Leave a light coat on her during the day and try again?

How long are you actually out of the house during the day? Many dogs of working parents manage to hold it all day. Not saying it's best, but it can be done. Also, what about walking with her and the dog walkers for a bit, and having them give her super-yummy-extra-good treats first? Or have them just hang out in the house with all of you a few times?

Joe gets them. Symptoms sound right. Doesn't always show in the sample, though. With Joe, I just default to antibiotics if all else looks good to the vet.

DH and I have a similar arrangement with Joe. I go to bed, and Joe comes with. DH comes upstairs, and Joe gets down. We only have issues if DH follows behind me too soon, or we go to bed at the same time. Joe expects at least an hour in the people bed and can be stubborn about getting off if he doesn't get it. Brees gets on the bed in the morning and is impossible to move. 65 pounds of crazy glue stuck to the comforter. We've had to pull the blankets off to get her down -- but mostly I don't bother. She tends to sleep ON hubby and doesn't bother me at all. No sleep startle with either dog though, and amazing self control from both of them. I've stepped on Joe (hard) and just gotten a "snark and lunge". Same reaction when they step on each other. Never teeth. I have total confidence that I could roll over on them or kick them in face while sleeping and be ok. What do you mean by "half-biting "? Is it just noise or does he make contact?

Candice is going to try to get the test results today, and I'll help her get them posted. The thing with Jake is he does *not* know he is ill. He's a nutball. Does the 2 mile Sunday houndwalk happily, and hates when his Mommy stops to rest him and his 12-year-old sister. His zoomies in the yard scare the beejeezus out of me.
