  1. My eyes started leaking the moment I saw the thread title......By the time I got to the part where Murray is doing so much better, I could hardly see to read. Much love, good thoughts, and white light to your handsome boy. May the beautiful photos of him continue to grace the pages of GT for a good long while yet. Hugs to all of you, the doctors who are competent in these cutting edge procedures, and the insurance folk who made it possible for it all to happen without a second thought.
  2. Billy Bob!!!! What a cool name for such a handsome lad! Congratulations!
  3. What a special boy.......what a special family.........what a special love. Happy Trails, Henry, you will never be forgotten.
  4. Oh, I'm so sorry........you did all you could and then some. Nobody ever said life is fair, but this..........
  5. Congratulations & welcome home to Jules. He's a very handsome lad......and I love his name!
  6. I'm so sorry you & SneakyPie are going through this. You must be half mad with worry & confusion. I have no advice to offer but will say that Dr.C consulted on Desi's case when he was in ICU with clot issues. Regarding my hound's health, I would follow that man into he77. Best wishes to your lovely girl. I so hope this turns out to be treatable.
  7. STANDING OVATION!!!!!! Bernie is such a brave boy to have endured all that, and his family is simply the best, going above & beyond (twice daily bandage changes!!!) This happy ending is a heart-warmer.
  8. Sweet like caramel.....sun makes him melt.
  9. Desi went through this a couple of years ago.....exactly as you are describing....lesions around nails, but nails intact, not loose. After going through much of the same testing, we decided to try Atopica (cyclosporine). He was on 100 mg twice a day and lesions were much better in just a couple of weeks. After a month or so, down to 100 mg once a day for a few months, then 3 times a week for quite a while. All this time, toes were fine, but I was afraid to stop the cyclosporin completely in case the lesions returned. After about a year, we were down to once weekly.....then I started to forget and it was once every couple of weeks, and then I'd forget again.... So, I finally just stopped. That's been 2 years ago, and lesions have never returned. In Desi's case, the Cyclosporine did not have the side effects of excessive drinking/urinations, but he did have yucky soft poo. Soft to the point that I carried a paper plate to catch it...it was impossible to clean up out of the grass. That lasted through the twice a days and some into the once a day, but eventually, all was well.
  10. I'm so very sorry. I'm sure Mirage's spirit will be with you in the morning.....and always.
  11. Desi had a very similar injury last year.....thanks to a door. It got bandaged ...... Seemed like it took forever to fill in & heal.....if I remember, nearly 6 weeks. But it did....looks good as new now, except for a little bend that only I seem to notice.
  12. What a pretty girl!!! Welcome from central Ohio
  13. In my mind, Pred is a double edged sword. It can be a lifesaver, but on the other hand......... I had a houndie years ago with IMHA who was put on Pred and wasted away. At the time, I was sure the Pred was going to kill him before the disease did.
  14. Well, that's certainly an owie. The spot further on down his "butt cheek" does look like a wipe out "burn" but that hole? What on earth?! Another mystery of the universe. Many hugs & smooches to Aiden (his other end, of course).
  15. This is such a bummer...............I'm so sorry.
  16. I'm so sorry.......happy trails, Mercy, and my condolences to those who are missing you.
  17. I know just how worried you must be.......good thoughts for Mango.
  18. I made it all the way to the picture of his paw on your foot before my eyes started leaking. Happy Trails, Andy. Your time at CampGreyhound may not have been the longest, but you sure did make it count.
  19. One of my fantasies, having a black pack. Congratulations. Live long & prosper, boys!!!
  20. What a lovely girl. Happy Trails, Raina.......my condolences to those who are missing you.
  21. And a handsome lad he is! Welcome to Max, his human, and the "work is progress" from Ohio.
  22. I'm so sorry. I'll bet those lucious ears just begged to be fondled.
