  1. Ah jeez......I'm so sorry. Happy Trails, Ace.
  2. I have never seen Desi lift a leg to pee. He stretches out like a horse. Fortunately, he's v-e-r-y long, so has no issues hitting his front legs... unless the wind is blowing a gale, & then you never know where that pee will end up.
  3. As the caregiver/loving mum to a 13.4 yo tottery old man, I thank Hester from the bottom of my heart for his compassion/respect & dignity he allowed that old fellow. You got a real gem, there......you know that, right? I know you do, just had to mention it again. I would also like to respectfully request a photo of the handsome hunk now & again.
  4. Here's my 2 cents: Desi is very non-confrontational. He will go 10 miles out of his way to avoid any unpleasantness. That being said, he has been bitten in the jowls twice by 2 different small dogs. Their owners thought it was quite cute that they wanted to "meet" my big boy......the bites were both on the side of his face, because he had his head turned in avoidance. And the moral of this story is, if Desi won't bite the little heathens, I will.
  5. Another happy Gabapentin user here. Desi takes 300 mg twice a day & has for the past 2 years. Makes a world of difference in his comfort level, and have had no side effects. He also takes Tramadol occasionally & has no problem.
  6. Desi is that way, too. I have learned how much is good, and when to stop. Some folks meeting him for the first time are a little too enthusiastic & he'll squawk at them. I have to explain that he's pretty sensitive about his ears. I wondered myself if that came from having them tattooed.
  7. I'm so sorry you've lost your special, handsome boy. Happy Trails, Zeke. May those corn-free paws carry you swiftly & well.
  8. Twiggy is a strong, determined lady, but we'd like to think that it was that little boost of white light from her GT friends/admirers that got her over the hump. I'm sure Twiggy would look at me......"AS IF"
  9. What a special girl. I could feel your rejoicing in every word. Happy Trails, Diana. Hope Sobe met you at the bridge & showed you all the things he needs a little help "getting into."
  10. I'm so sorry that it was Pearl's time to go. Happy Trails, pretty lady.
  11. Welcome to your furever home, Wash! I can certainly understand why everyone fell in love with you!
  12. Mushers Secret is the greatest. thing. ever.
  13. Desi's thermostat is broken. He's always "run hot" so I keep the thermostat at 66. Now in his elder years, he's chilly, so I tuck him in a blankie. 5 minutes later, he's hot, & panting like a freight train. Gets up, gives me the stink eye cause he's tangled in the blankie, gets comfortable........ 10 minutes later shivering & whining........and on....and on.....and on....and on..........never had so much fun in my life!
  14. I'm so sorry it was Maggie's time to go. Happy Trails pretty girl.........as you race across that bridge, head for the outside, and take all those other hounds with you....all of you running free & fast. What a sight to behold!
  15. He's a happy boy, alright. And you're a happy dad. And we're a bunch of happy gt'ers to see him in his favorite position, letting it all hang out!
  16. I'm so very sorry that Murray is gone from this earth. Your photographs over the years speak volumes about the love radiated between you. He was a special lad, and you are special parents to have learned to let him shine. Shine on, Murray....I'll be looking for your star tonight.
  17. That little bombshell is gonna live forever!!!!!!! All our love Twiggy!
  18. Skeeter got really clingy, did the door thing, too. Poked his nose in the hinge side & then glared at me like I rehung the door just to mess with him. He used to love going in the car......then the car became the scariest thing ever.
  19. I'll bet from here on out, she'll improve quickly. When Desi had that big clot in a rear leg, I was in despair, because the other 3 legs are none too good. The first week was a disaster, but once he started to improve, it came by leaps & bounds. And we all know the Twiglet will NOT be held back. For a little bitty thing, she's got the strength of an ox. xoxo to our heroine!
  20. Wendy & Twiggy: Desi & I are sending you hugs & healing thoughts, and a million prayers to any higher power that will listen.
  21. See ya in the spring, Taylor........for another WAY TO GO, MAN!!!!!!!!
  22. Rocket....bro! Fank goobness...it's all over but the rooin..tomorrow - back to yer regulerly skeduled program, and may the force be witch you!
  23. I'm just going to believe that Jilly is watching over you all & whispering helpful hints in Angel's ear. It does seem like only yesterday.
