  1. Don't worry, she did get some of the "bones".
  2. Congratulations on the new guy! Sorry it's off to a poopy start. That does sound like hookworms. Getting another check is a great place to start. What to feed is tough. There are so many foods out there! Unfortunately I think it is a matter of trial and error to see what works for your guy. What works for one dog won't work for another. I would start with one of the big brands like Purina, they have a ton of different formulas and they actually do feeding trials that the smaller brands don't. Also consider that just settling into a new home can cause some digestive upset. I'd probably not start making drastic changes too soon. Good luck, you'll figure it out! Also, we love pictures around here.....
  3. A 20 year old greyhound really is an outlier. I suspect it’s genetics more than anything. Good routine care helps, but it doesn’t guarantee anything. I do also think about quality of life at that point too. I don’t know the dogs being discussed here but wonder if they really were really living their normal lives or if they were just existing due to extensive efforts by the humans.
  4. Wiki sleeps like that too! I was going to say that they are the same person but then I remembered that AnnIE sleeps in the car and lays down nicely for the lieberry kids' storytime. Those are both a big no for the Black Bandit.
  5. I don't mean to be a one-upper, but this is what I found when I came in from mowing the lawn leaves.
  6. Pinata! With the leg broken off! You're a genius! And sweet Willa looks very pleased with it too.
  7. Ah Rachel, that sucks! And I'm with you that even though it doesn't make sense, I'd think the chemo would kill them too. I guess this means Profender isn't the solution either. Wiki actually had her 6 month check a couple weeks ago and it's as it always is - antigen positive, no ova present, and she's asymptomatic. I'll take it and hope that nothing triggers the dormant little monsters to become active.
  8. Punkin! And AnnIE doing what AnnIE does. Can you please send instructions to Wiki for how to ride in the car nicely?
  9. Doolin, you are indeed cute, but watch your manners!
  10. Sign me up! Thanks for coordinating again.
  11. What a great time you all had together! You're great houndie parents. I hope that when the time is right, and the right dog comes along, you'll open your home and hearts to another.
  12. I am so sorry! I really thought he had turned the corner and was going to improve. You took such good care of him!
  13. The ups and down are horrible, aren't they? I hope Buddy has turned the corner for good and has a long time of picky eating and honky hog mauling ahead!
  14. I just saw that we were supposed to be backandforfing and it's already over! I'm so happy that you got good news! Keep it up Willa!
  15. Pet me. No, pet ME. No, pet ME! They are very sweet. ETA - The pictures are blocked on my work laptop and just list a description. The second one is described as, "May be an image of 1 person, goose, kinkajou, wallaby."
  16. Hang in there! I know how frustrating and worrisome it can be trying to get a dog to eat. You're doing great and have a great vet. Buddy is going to be just fine, I know it! One thing I don't think I saw anyone suggest is just leaving something out. He might not want the chicken when you offer it to him, but leave it on a plate on the floor and go about your business. When you come back it just might be gone.
  17. She is awesome! And boop back at ya, Doolin!
  18. Don't tell Wiki I'm posting a less than flattering picture of her.
