  1. Please at Buck to the list. I don't think his people are on GT. Thanks.
  2. Does your dog run the same route back to the house? If so, would it be possible to stand somewhere else with the Yorkie? I've been the "dog catcher" for the speed run at GIG. I do something similar. I basically use the stance that a running back who is blocking for his quarterback uses when he knows that a 300 lb plus lineman is coming his way. I lower my center of gravity. In the 3 years I've done it, I haven't been knocked over yet and some of the dogs come in the 30+ mph range. We even had a few a few years ago that were in the 40-44 mph range.
  3. Run free Murphy. I am so sorry for your loss.
  4. Ducky, I'm so sorry you're sweet girl had to leave you. Run Free Gracie.
  5. Magic uses Get Up and Go from Greyhound Gang. He gets a 1/2 tsp with his breakfast.
  6. My question is would a couple of very tiny pieces of onion be toxic to a 70 lb. dog? In the house I live in, there are 2 kids who cook with onions regularly. Sometimes they drop tiny pieces on the floor. Either they ignore the pieces or don't realize they've dropped the pieces. I mentioned early on that onions are toxic to dogs. Magic is not a huge eating stuff off the floor that he isn't supposed to but he will occasionally and he's never been a vegetable or fruit eater. After the kids are done cooking, I do go into the kitchen and do an "onion check". The biggest thing I've found is some onion skin.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, no one was home last night to help me with him. I did get his travel harness that I could have used to help him on the stairs. As I said, if worse came to worse, I could have gotten him inside the basement door. There is a small landing there. Fortunately, we usually get smallish tornadoes (EF0 or EF1) and we live in a big hold stone house so getting him on the landing would have protected us from glass and other debris. We didn't get much more than a little wind and a heavy downpour and very little thunder. It was just a watch. As far as i know no one in the area actually had a warning.
  8. Thanks for the harness suggestion. I do have one. Right now, your area looks like it may be under the gun more than we are. I'm north of Philadelphia near Doylestown.
  9. We're currently under a tornado watch in Southeast PA. The house has a basement but Magic doesn't do stairs any longer. I figure we should be OK if I can get him inside the basement door on the small landing at the top of the stairs. But does anyone have a suggestion to get him down the stairs so we'll be even more safe?
  10. Magic had a toe injury (an infection) a couple of years ago. He was able to put weight on it.
  11. Welcome Becky and Charm from Magic and Carol in Chalfont, PA
  12. Deb and John, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl. Run free Daisy!
  13. Magic has the same problem. It occurs most often after he stands for a while especially on a harder surface. He lost quite a bit of muscle in his left rear leg due to surgery after an attack and has the "Elvis leg" on the right. I always figured it might be that he's putting more weight on the right leg because the left is weaker due to muscle loss.
  14. Robin, I am so sorry to read this. Treasure was a sweet girl. Run Free Sweet Treasure.
  15. Run free Sweet Sadie. Deb, John, and the rest of the pack to all of you. FF&F Carol and Magic
  16. Adrianne, Seth, Jamie, Ollie, and Chevy, I am so sorry you're going through this. I went through almost the same thing almost 7 years ago and it was horrifying. I'll keep all of you in my prayers. Carol
  17. I'm thinking about getting an awake dental for Magic and would like advice on whether I should have it done at home or at Greyhounds in Gettysburg. There is someone in my area who comes to your home to do the procedure. Magic turned 12 in January and is relatively healthy (arthritis and hypoactive thyroid). I'm just trying to figure out which would be the least stressful for my boy. Thanks.
  18. Welcome Chris and Slayer. Beautiful pictures of a beautiful girl.
