    Iker takes a nap

    From the album: Iker

  2. Jan, this is the first time I've seen this video. It's lovely. She was such a special member of my family and I miss her so much! Thank you.
  3. Poor guy. Try to relax, ok? He may be picking up on your stress. I second those who have seen weird reactions to tramadol. I had difficulty being able to distinguish what was med side effect and what was reaction to pain.

    Spudzilla

Oh no, not Spud! I'm so sorry, Mary Jo
  5. Iker was prescribed Clomicalm last year and it is still sitting unused in my kitchen. I think sometimes people are reluctant to try meds. I wouldn't say that means that their dogs should be rehomed. Do you think Iker should be rehomed? He's had issues since before I adopted him.
  6. That is great! I see it in action when I walk Iker. He is scared when approached, but will sometimes approach people on his own if they completely ignore him.
  7. Happy Birthday at the bridge, Nadia
  8. That is a good plan, Xan. In the meantime, I'll keep chanting
  9. I used to run 10k every other day with Phoenix. I had to train him slowly, exactly how I trained myself. It can be done.
  10. I'm sorry. I've been in this situation several times. Last week Treasure was sent to the bridge due to osteo. I was really afraid for Iker, who is a traumatized, very shy galgo. With some extra attention, he's doing much better than expected.
  11. Yep, that's a great idea. If not, I'm returning in late September. I don't know if it's difficult for me to get them into the country, though. I think Dr. Couto is your best bet. GRIN also sends teams of vets to other shelters. There is a team from Colorado going to FBM in late October.
  12. Yes, OSA is fast. Treasure went from normal X-rays to osteo tumour on her leg within 3.5 weeks. So I guess this is good news.
  13. Wendy, don't you EVER feel guilty! I am thrilled about Twiggy, just as I'm sure we all are. Meeting her was meeting a miracle and a star. Kristin, I just lost my second dog to osteo. As has already been posted, not using the leg is an indication of pain. When I lost Phoenix to osteo a couple of years ago, my vet said that if he was showing pain, he had to be in a zillion time more pain than we see. I'll never forget that.
  14. Still waiting for good news...doing the "no cancer" chant
  15. How I loved Hannah stories!! And Hannah in person! Just think; Hannah and Loca have finally met! What a thought!! Tena and Kevin, I am so very sorry
  16. Relax. Too much too soon. Just let her be for the time being.

    Jet

I saw Jet's name, dates and picture on the top of GT yesterday. I'm so very sorry. Osteo sucks.
  18. It's apparent that she lived a full and happy life and really loved her family. Beautiful girl.
