Almost never. He don't like it and he don't need it and his coat is healthier withOUT washings. I do brush him very occasionally but groomers are thinking about the $$ for baths they don't need and which could actually dry out their skin/coat -even using the best products. JMO.

Different packs that I've had resulted in different customs but they all seem to enjoy a little coffee after their breakfast. Never found a single hound that didn't. I will make up some extra for them and put in some sweet cream and stevia sweetner. I give each dog around 2 ounces in a small bowl but have given them more on occasion. I believe it is good for them. I use the stevia because thats what I use and there’s some evidence to suggest that stevia may help fight or prevent some types of cancer. According to a 2012 studyTrusted Source, a glycoside called stevioside found in stevia plants helps boost cancer cell death in a human breast cancer line. Stevioside may also help decrease some mitochondrial pathways that help cancer grow. A 2013 studyTrusted Source supported these findings. It found that many stevia glycoside derivatives were toxic to specific leukemia, lung, stomach, and breast cancer cell lines. It is also been shown to reduce colesterol. After they enjoy their coffee we all roo for a greyt start to the day So happy Logan enjoys this human treat. Maybe he can spread the word to other houndies and their peeps.

I used to run with my first greyhound Ivy. I too was a horse person and I thought it would be best -as Ivy would get hot for sure. I asked my vet and he agreed and basically said it may not be necessary but then again it may be and a reasonable amount certainly wouldn't hurt her. I ordered her a tub from KV Vet Supply that I recall was actually formulated for dogs. Maybe some of the racing folks will chime in. They are the ones who will know also. Anyway I was pleased because despite running with me-which she dearly loved- she never had any instances of heat issues. So I think it was a good thing and would do it again if I was running with another houndie. Like me you are probably aware of how quick you can kill a horse if they don't have their salt block so to speak so I learned early on, like you, to take animals electrolyte situation very seriously.

So much fun seeing "the hounds of Greytalk" and their peeps! It was so wonderful to have some time to just sit, eat good food, and talk greyhound, and above all love on greyhounds. Hope to see you all again next year.

WOW! How super wonderful is that? Isn't it amazing how they teach us from the other side? My soulmate Slim rescued me when after he crossed over he taught me that he would indeed be with me always! He taught me that only his body died that the real Slim that I loved was spirit and he was OK and would never be apart from me. That was 2006. He has indeed sent me many signs and been with me everyday since. Another thing he taught me is that our bridge angels actually have more 'power' now than they did when they were here in body. I would encourage you to journal Sweeps signs and communications. I did and still do with Slims and it is very comforting and it also helps me learn some of Slim's wisdom he still shares with me. A very moving and powerful tribute to a beautiful lady hound. I enjoyed Sweep on here. loved her toofers, and she will never be forgotten. She was captivating and easy to love. Sweep, you will never be forgotten pretty girl. We love you always.

Maybe you can find some comfort in these. They help me a lot-kind of brings me back into reality. These first two are from a bridge angel to his person: Until we meet again.. You say that all you have left are memories but this is not so. You see, when I took leave of my earthly body I left a little something behind for you. You can't touch it, hold it or examine it, for what I left behind is far too uninhibited for confinement. I left in your tender care a piece of my soul. I placed it right next to your own which is quite fitting as we were always side by side in our earthly life together. I love you too much to have left you with nothing but memories that tend to fade and grow cloudy as the years go by. I love you too much to have vanished without a trace. How selfish it would be of me to remove love and light from your life. I understand your tears, each one you shed is testament to your love for me and I am honored and humbled. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOGAN!

After every meal I wash them either in the dishwasher or hot soapy water. I might add that I very rarely have any loose stool or digestive system issues either. Can you imagine the proliferation of microorganisms on unwashed food bowls? And if I am not going to wash them right away I usually spray a quick lite squirt of Chlorox Clean-Up in them. I believe that pathogens can get inside the cracks and crevices in plastic/ceramic bowls. I mostly use stainless steel. Suffice to say my dogs bowls are perfectly safe for anyone human or animal.

You keep having faith in a positive outcome. Miracles DO STILL happen. It certainly would not be the first time that a cancer has mysteriously "disappeared". Praying for Future and you.

Thats one of my favorite pictures of Rocket! Got to go with the Rocket man Yes I still have some of Miss Donna's creations. She is greatly missed. She had a special gift. Its like she knew the personality of the hound she was making it for.
