  1. What beautiful hounds I love Summer's face of woe too!
  2. Hi soon to be European mate! I believe he can be nauseous too, maybe the change of diet from the breeder to your house? What do you feed him? Does he want to eat grass/dirt?
  3. And so...we anticipated our trip and we went today to the kennel but unluckily Steve wasn't a good match with Runa....we were going to abort the mission but the rescue lady introduces us to another hound. Runa was a bit stressed at first (there was also a mistake from Steve's handler and she was bitten by him poor thing) but Fiveo was a real gentleman, he kept inviting her to play and never minded her growls. So we are going home with Fiveo, let's hope in a couple of days they'll become friends. Update from home,so far so good 🤞 https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP0EB47Oj3hY_uqAxYqCxxnD1YLZuN_FpNt2VTgaIyVTRlIQQ-hTW9zJPve8QpNdw?key=a3c2akx1UzRoTk9RN2FNMTAwRW1zQnFFajhXcDNR How can I change the thread title?

  5. There were far too many coincidences not to think it was Max who was sending Steve our way...when I called the rescue asking about Steve they told me he was already in Italy because he was the spare one to complete the van from Ireland (like Max was) and he was in foster in the same kennel in which was fostered Max. He is a big rambuctious goofball (just like Max). Some nights before I dreamt I was in a beach at night, I was calling for Max and Runa and a black dog came to me (never had one). I'll put more pictures of him, thank you for your heartwarming welcome!
  6. Dear friends, the loss of our beloved Max has been heartbreaking and our house, despite the presenze of his little sister, was empty. The rescue center where I picked Max ten years ago put a post in his memory on their web page and while I was looking again at their post my eyes met the ones of a hound in search of his forever home....and so.....we decided to honour Max's memory adopting another hound in need. He's already in Italy, we'll take him next weekend. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qa9gSB1rnsiwUJiy6
  7. Thank you racingdog, what wonderful words ❤️ I'll print it and take it always with me
  8. We were celebrating Max only a few days ago and he suddetly left us yesterday night. The grief is unsustainable, I loved him so much and I miss him so much I can't breathe. He was in the yard as usuale when he cried loud, I ran to him and he was fainting. We took him inside and he recovered a bit. We carried him to the vet and they found out his heart was bleeding, they tried to drain it but there was a lesion that kept bleeding. They couldn't do more than put him to sleep. Max was stunning, a real hearthbreaker, everybody loved him. And most he was the kindest soul on planet earth. He loved pizza above all, and his cookies. He loved being hugged and scratched for hours. He always had a smiley face and he always put a smile on mine with his quirks. He loved a good dive in the river but only until he could touch his feet, he loved his morning walk even if the weight of years shortened it lately. Oh and he loved the snow, but also snuggling under a million rugs and pillows and snooze all day long, expecially during rainy days. Yesterday morning we had our walk, the he the his breakfast and took a nap with his human dad. At lunch he was hungry again and he got cookies and chiken. He was happy, he did his usual bouncing dance while preparing for the walk. Goodspeed my sweet brindle angel https://ibb.co/dmWW0H7
  9. Did they test her for Cushing? It can lead to a quantity of symptoms (I'm not really aware about Cushing in dogs but I have a Cushing horse and he has a number of problems). About her not drinking it is normal because they pushed fluids while in their care, she should go back to normal drinking the next day. Hugs to your sweet Apple
  10. Thank you all! The pictures are recent, the oldest one is the one in the yard and it is from last September. In his youger days he was really stunning and above all he's a sweet goofball. He's my first greyhound and definitely won't be the last
  11. In my other topic some of you has pointed out how being nearly 14yo is a remarkable finishing for Max (but we point at least at 20!!), I thought you'd like to see some pictures of His Cuteness Max (racing name Rains Max) https://tinypic.host/image/pWJS6 https://tinypic.host/image/pWrrz https://tinypic.host/image/pWR41 https://tinypic.host/image/pWjyG Sorry I couldn't upload the files directly
  12. Thank you! Vetline hasn't changed their formula (I am one of their retailers too 🤦). I tried fish, venison and pork but with no luck. I also tried other kind of Acana, included their Senior formula but again...gas... and Max didn't like them so much (he wolfs the Lamb one). Unluckily Vetline has Lamb only in a Less Dry formula which Max doesn't appreciate. There is an italian brand I would be keen on trying (the name is Almo) because they use high standard ingredients (suitable for human consumption) but they have a good amount of corn in every recipe. I've been using Acana for about one month now and even if he's thinner than I would like (but this is not that bad for his poor legs I think) it looks like he's gained some muscles back, could it be due to higher protein? My vet, as you, says to give him what he pleases most, as long as he's happy to eat! Thank you! Vetline hasn't changed their formula (I am one of their retailers too 🤦). 13. My nearly 14yo grey became very gassy during last months (and for very gassy I mean he could saturate the living room in half an hour! LOL) and had often loose stools. I tried different foods and found that what eliminates the problem Is ACANA Grass Fed Lamb. My only concern (together with the price....) is that it has 35% of protein, is it too much in your opinion? Before I was feeding him Vetline (a Premium brand here in Italy) which has 24% , he was good for years with this food but lately something is bothering his stomach
  14. My Max (nearly 14yo) has been on Librela for a year and it worked great for him. Unluckily now it isn't working even on a higher dose (vet said he has immunized) but I can't spread enough good words about Librela
