  1. You do want an xray. Because if it is the dreaded osteo you don't want her to break her leg.
  2. No, you're not in denial. I have 11 at the Bridge. They pretty much tell you when they're ready.
  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Bubbles has been giving it the twice over.
  4. Bubbles received her SS gift today. THANK YOU! Can she wait until Christmas morning to open it up?
  5. We tried some meds, which made her worse. But she did great yesterday without meds. Of course she went flying out the door this morning when I had to switch to electric heat when the brand new heat exchange broke. Again. The electric heat is 30 years old and not used much so it did have a smell to it.
  6. Timeframe is just getting to the recipient before the holiday.
  7. Hi, just want to make sure everyone is doing ok and have no issues.
  8. Personally I would try a behaviorist because you could always rehome her if you don't make progress. Can you get her used to being in her own room when guests come over?
  9. Oh Jan. I'm so sorry. Both my boys made it to 32 as well. Didn't make it any easier. It's been decades and I still miss them.
  10. Big breakthrough today. I bought a doghouse. The small, soft sided, inside variety, like cat houses. She took to it right away, and was able to stay in there when the heat came on. As long as I was in the room. But, big step. Tomorrow is our vet appointment.
  11. I've always had multiple greys. Up to 4 at once. If you want to start slow, go for walks with other greyhounds. See if he likes girls or boys more. It's usually the opposite sex, but not always. You can also see if he likes to be alpha. Play dates with other greys help too. Then you can try fostering if available. Work with an adoption group to get a good match. But overall I've found most greys seem to get along with most greys.
  12. Ellen, the last thing Emma was interested in eating before I lost her was eggnog. Nice and fattening, with protein and vitamins. It helped keep her weight on til the end. It's rich so she'd get just a quarter cup at a time, but several times a day. Jeter
  13. Congrats! The best thing I can offer you is to let him tell you. If he pants (but is relaxed) he's hot. If he's shivering he's cold. So bring all coats just in case.
  14. Well I had them for over 10 years. They were great until Chubb took them over. They canceled Emma's policy after CC died. So when I went to put a $1000 claim in for Emma's diagnosis and euthanasia there was no policy. I am fuming! Right now my two 3 year olds are uninsured.
  15. Hi Batty Elf! Bada must have lived far in the south Cause when she's cold she chatters her mouth. One of the joys she's discovered so far Are soft squeaky toys, at fetch she's a star. She's also discovered that food's really neat Her favorites are American, soft, made of meat. Her momma loves goodies, all sorts of treats Nothing spicy hot, but fine are savory and sweets. Chocolate is the best especially dark Then she'll have more walks to do around the park.
  16. I'm not sure if it's the sound or smell. But now she associates both. And closed vents still make noise. It's a heat pump, can't separate fan from heat.
  17. I have a newly adopted jindo mix. Rescued from a Korean meat farm. Bada was doing great until I turned the heat. It's a heat pump, so cycles off and on as needed with floor vent forced hot air. I'm not 100% sure if it's a smell (which I can't detect) or sound, but it scares the daylights out of her and she runs outside (dog door)and refuses to come back in. Its getting so that even when it's off she's afraid to come back inside. So before I traumatized her further by forcing her stay inside while the heat's on, can anyone suggest anything else?
  18. Can you put your name in the SS thread? THANKS!
