  1. Do you have any adoption groups in your country? If so you can work with them to establish a partnership with a Korean, Chinese etc group that rescues greyhounds. It's a bit of work but then you will have access to greyhounds. People are just making sure that dogs don't go from the fry pan to the fire. That if they get shipped somewhere they will be safe.
  2. Ducky, please add Hopper. He was boy I dog sat. One of my favorites. He had trouble breathing last night and went to the Bridge this morning. A handsome white with brindle boy and a crooked face.
  3. Welcome from NJ. Which group in Spain did you get him from?
  4. I'm wondering if he got into something like tar and shaving was the only way to remove it. It is easier than trying to just remove it with soap or oil.
  5. My Pearl had that. She was diagnosed at age 5. At age 6 she was diagnosed with hypertension. It was never well controlled. We were put on meds and had lots of checkups. She lived a full, happy, active life until cancer took her age 12.
  6. I just lost a renal failure dog in January. She was only 6. As long as she was eating and enjoying life she lived. And she was very happy. She stopped eating on a Tuesday and left for the Bridge Wednesday. She had several meds for her tummy as kidney issues makes the tummy nauseous. I often said she eats like there's no tomorrow. When she stops eating there's no tomorrow.
  7. Some people don't have homeowners or rent and don't have renters insurance. So maybe that's what they want to make sure is covered.
  8. Oh Shawna, I'm so sorry. {{{{{{{ hugs}}}}}} Would you mind if I ask what the lump was? My girl has had several bouts of pancreatitis lately.
  9. My girl Pearl was diagnosed with heart disease at age 5. She also had hypertension. Diagnosed by a canine cardiologist who knew about greyhounds. Pearl was put on vetmedin and some BP meds and lived to 12. When cancer got her. I wish you were over here, I love my cardiologist. I would send you to her in a heartbeat.
  10. So is my girl. Watch the fat. That's what sets off the pancreas. And it is good to let them be as far as eating is concerned. Give the pancreas time to calm down. When she is just starting to show signs I give her a Gas-X, tramadol and famotidine (which the vet has prescribed). Once she feels like eating I give her rice and boiled chicken.
  11. Yay. I did get a room at the Sydney James. This will be my first mountain hounds. Never been to Tennessee.
  12. {{{{{{{{{{ Ashley}}}}}}}}} He was very handsome.
  13. If the Sydney James is booked, what other accommodations are popular with the greyhound peeps?
  14. I thought he looked familiar. I saw him on the GFNJ site. Which is where I'm getting my new girl on Friday. Congrats Mimi. I'm glad you could welcome someone so soon after losing 2 so close together.
  15. Unfortunately xrays don't always show osteo once symptoms appear. You should get them redone in 2 weeks. My front tripod was having issues with her back legs. Xrays showed nothing. We did a CT scan 2 weeks later and there was osteo in her leg and pelvis. I hope it's soft tissue like the vet said. Saying prayers. Good luck,
