  1. Here's hoping the lump is innocuous and Jonelle heals quickly!
  2. I would have no idea but I just wanted you to know you and Lydia are in my thoughts. I'm hoping it's something simple that can be corrected ritawayquik. It does sound like she's hesitating due to pain though
  3. We had Bailey's toe removed and one thing i suggest is make sure it is amputated high enough. We found that Bailey still limped because the "end" still touched the ground so she had to wear a thera paw. Maybe there's a good reason to only amputate part of it, but I wish I had known this was a possibilty and asked more questions before the amp.
  4. I'd start with NILF training (nothing in life is free) and a quick search on here will provide tons of info. Under the current circumstances I would only pet him, if I was your mom, when he was standing up, not when he came over to her, rather only when she called him to her. I would also pet him under his chin and not on the top of his head initailly. Ben loves to be petted, but only for a certain amount of time, then he's had enough...perhaps this is part of it too but there isn't enough details. A video would be helpful if you could record it without risk of a bite, and another option may be to contact a behaviourist who uses positive reinforcement.
  5. I'm not pro-crate, however i realize there may be certain circumstances where it is appropriate. My suggestion is if you are going to try crating him, leave the door open. If he likes it he may go in and lay down and if he doesn't like it, he doesn't have to stay confined in it which may exacerbate his problem.
  6. That was so beautiful Marc. I knew I would cry just reading the title so I imagine this is still very raw and painful.
  7. just wondering...what does it take for it to be "for sure" Sounds like you're toast
  8. I've been thinking about you guys a lot lately. the years go by quickly but love stays in your heart forever
  9. How did it go today? He's your pup and you have every right to know what's going on so don't let them intimidate you, especially if he is a lot better with you there. It sounds like they have to eat their words and they are really defensive about it. jmho
  10. I'm so sorry for your loss, she does indeed sound very special and spent her best years with you.
  11. Hoping Iker will recover riteawayqik so you can relax. If he's in pain he'll feel so much better once he heals up in a couple of days. Did Dr Couto have any insights about Galgos?
  12. The vet who was speaking at MH said anesthesia wasn't more risky for seniors than it was for younger greys. Here's hoping all goes well and Missy heals quickly.
  13. I too hope it's all good from here on in. He does look adorable in the cone He's so cute,..wishing nothing but the best for Tristan as he continues to recover.

A very beautiful tribute to a well-loved pup. I'm so sorry for your losses.
  15. He's so cute, he even mixes it up. Our just take a drink out of their bowl and I have to clean it up. At least the floor around his food bowl will always be clean from wiping it after every meal.
  16. I'm so sorry Heather. Saying sorry always seems so inadequate but I know he was loved and spent his best years with you. Your tribute to him conveys this love for him.
  17. I'm so sorry for your loss of Indy. Even though he had a greyt life with you, this must be so painful losing them both so close together.
  18. The problem I see is if you blame it on food, you may not focus on, and subsequently miss, behavioural triggers. Or, vice versa, you may be changing a behaviour which results in behavioural improvements, and attribute the success to the food which would then be just a placebo effect.
