I’m so so sorry. The link you requested is in my signature. I haven’t read it in a long time, but I hope you get some comfort. I think I wrote it after Bailey died which was 9 years ago. The pain of grief can be so overwhelming. Please call me if you ever need to talk. Email is fine too, it’s just not as personal, jmho. I went to grief counselling as well. I don’t think it helped me, I was just desperate to ease my pain of losing 2 so close together. Take care of yourself. Grief is like ocean waves, sometimes the waves are huge, sometimes they just ebb and flow. The most difficult part for me was learning to live without them. I’m sure this will be difficult for you too.

You made Rocket come to life on this forum, and although I never met Rocket on your travels to the beach, I also felt I knew him too. I wish I had words of comfort, but I don’t. I’m assuming her no longer has furniture privileges (I only skim read). You are trying not to take it personally, just trying to show him you love him. This caught my attention. Remember he’s a dog, not a human. He doesn’t know what you are trying to do and hasn’t gained your trust yet. But he does know that he doesn’t like some things you’re doing. For example, Most dogs don’t like to be hugged, but some will “tolerate “ it. Doesn’t mean they like it though. What you refer to as love may not be the type of loving he wants right now, so perhaps be more mindful of his needs and put yours aside until you create a stronger bond. Patience is key.

This is fairly common with one of our greys. When she gets the gurgles she won’t eat at all. I have some liquid Bismuth Sub/Kaolin prescribed by our vet, but I also use Pepcid AC (Famotidine 10 mg). Our vet suggested 40 mg and she weighs about 63 lbs. I find 2 10mg tablets usually settle her stomach. We also give our pups a small bit of kibble (very small handful) before they go to bed. This prevents them from getting extremely hungry overnight. If they are too hungry, they may throw up some bile and not want to eat. Our greyhounds have been checked and they are ok, just one has a sensitive stomach sometimes. The other 2 don’t usually get a gurgling noisy stomach, but may be due to a small amount of food before bed. We’ve dealt with the bile issue previously over the last 14 years and found this has worked with all 6 of our greyhounds.
