  1. Welcome from Maryland! Telly is beautiful!!
  2. Very sad... but she'll be greeted by the thousands of hounds she helped find homes, including my Cody girl... Rest well, Linda - you will be missed.
  3. Welcome to GreyTalk!! You'll be addicted to here soon enough!! There's a piece missing from the thing greypups posted... I think it's supposed to be "Why should he not believe that this someone will have him for lunch?" or something like that...
  4. Wendy & Kevin - hugs from me... it's so so hard to lose a special kitty. He's beautiful... (PS - both mine 'help' me make the bed...)
  5. I remember the pictures you posted of him... we all remember him here... Many hugs today
  6. Can be very unfriendly - AND stubborn & hard to train!! (I wanted one for years till I learned what their personalities were!! Decided greys fit me much better!) NS Duck Tollers are REALLY nice dogs - smaller than Golden Retrievers but similar in personality, I think... A priest when I was growing up had a Great Pyrenees!! Gorgeous dog!!
  7. Hi Mary - Jeannine here (ozgirl2)

You're listed as a 'friend' of 8greytgreys and I'm trying to give some elf help to her secret santa.

All I can tell from her posts is that she's lost 3 greys since last Christmas (within a month) and her Sugar has just had an amp. for osteo.

SS has Hammer. I thought I'd see if you can give me some info on what...

    Chips

I'm so sorry... I followed the other thread... I know several other people who had dogs with similar actions and a similar diagnosis... truly beyond their or the dogs' control. He'll always be in your memory... Run free, Chips - you were a special guy, with a special home.
  9. Ken & Heather - I'm so sorry Prajna had to leave you... I remember him from Ken's Maryland days, back in my early days with Cody. Run free, travelin' man...
  10. Welcome home, Maci Grey!! (FVNL & SVNL )

    Steak

Beth, I'm so sorry... like everyone else, I thought you finally had the seizures licked.. Hugs to you & the girls... Run free, seizure free, Steakie
  12. Cody LOVED LOVED LOVED men when I got her - she was the kennel pet. I used to call her 'the slut' cause on walks, she'd pull toward any man & just FAWN all over them, smiling, etc! I lived alone, so she just had me. eventually, she would fawn over me too (but only after I was gone for awhile!) Give her time - if you haven't had a grey before, this is kind of what they're like! Some are very laid back - she could be just very settled in now. OR she could still change a lot in the next few months.
  13. Sure, I will try to update. We know for sure that it IS osteo, very sad. Right now it is looking like the owner will amputate, she is still so devastated that it is hard for her to think. I think cost will prohibit her from going to OSU. If she's online, make sure you send her over here... LOTS of great info on post-amp care!!
  14. Tricia & Burke - I'm so very sorry Bee had to leave you... it's always too soon. Huge hugs to you 2 & Murray - wish I could give them to you in person. I'm so glad you had Dewey with her. And have no fear - she WILL be remembered. Bee Wiseman is one of the GT celebrities! Run free, Bee Wiseman!
  15. Welcome from Maryland, USA!! Are you anywhere near Bega? I had friends who used to live there - I got to visit!
  16. That second picture says it all, doesn't it? She KNEW she was your girl... Run free, Baby Girl Hugs, Greg...
  17. I'm so sorry Rainy had to leave you too soon... Run free, sweet girl...

    Bree...

Holly and Dot - I'm so very sorry Bree had to leave you... it's always too soon. I'm glad I got to meet you yesterday. Hugs to you both, and scritches to Norm. Run free, sweet Bree

    Buzz Kitty

Oh, I'm so sorry, Wendie - a special kitty is such a great friend... Hugs
  20. Welcome to the wonderful world of greyhounds!! She's gorgeous (and so is your little man!) - looks a lot like my Cody girl. (Cracked me up when you called her 'big Julie' - that's one of the gangsters in Guys & Dolls!! Post more pix of both your pups when you get a chance - and enjoy her! You should see lots of changes over the next few months! (PS you never know what will spook them - Cody was a very confident dog but was scared to death of balloons!! )
  21. Hugs, Robin - it's really nice... (I want to go to Grey Haven one day, to see all the pavers for dogs I've known, both in the flesh & on GT)
  22. Hugs... I'm so sorry Baker had to leave you. I think everyone who has to make the decision to help their furry friend to the bridge feels guilty about it. "Was it the right time? Did I take him/her too soon?" and we agonize over it. Please console yourself that you gave an incredible gift to your best friend - a release from pain. Remember that we're all here for you and most of us have gone through this at least once (some on here have been through it more times than I'd like to think about...) You can come & rant, cry, talk about him whenever you need to, where your family & friends might not understand... More hugs
  23. I'm so sorry... kitties are very special, and she was a beauty! (I understand the need to get another cat(s) soon - when my Weenie went to the bridge, I had Merling 3 weeks later - couldn't stand the house without a cat!) Hugs...
  24. Welcome!! I am also currently houndless - don't let it stop you from visiting & posting here!! (Although people are bound to point you toward dogs once in a while!! )
  25. Ooooh, Bobby is gorgeous!! LOVE the blues!!
