  1. A friend's grey had polyarthritis - but only in ONE leg - and it was erosive! She was on high doses of predisone for the rest of her life (6 years on pred, I think!), eventually died at 12! And the bone fused back together! Crooked, but she could still walk & run. So it CAN be just in 1 leg...
  2. Sarah - Cody had pancreatitis twice and had gastritis/colitis multiple times. Had a very sensitive stomach... A greenie caused the 1st pancreatitis bout - vet said WHY did you give her a Greenie?!?! They're hugely high in fat!! So no more greenies for her... Yep - limit fat & no people foods!! (Cody was also allergic to soy & rice - so finding foods for her was always fun, fun, fun!) Good luck! Hope you don't have any repeats!!
  3. Hey Tony - if there's someone near your mom who'd stay with him, that might be your best bet... Or I agree with the (very TALL) babygating into the kitchen or bedroom... Good luck... And scritches to that cute Zero from me too!!
  4. I'm just seeing this... I'm so sorry, Xan & H... I think all the other GTers have said it all - everyone here loves Wabi - and always will! Run free in the dandelion fields, Wabi!! (lots of hugs, Xan...)
  5. I'm so sorry, Robin... Do you have any pictures of Jocko? I'd love to see him!
  6. You've had a rough year, Gil... many hugs...
  7. Hi Jennie! Where are the pix of your pups?!?!?! Are you on the SLR board over there? I cruise it sometimes... good thing I'm so far away! There are tons of lurchers there I'd love to have!! Welcome to GT - it's addictive!
  8. Any news yet? Waiting.... ... patiently!! (We're NOT the most patient group here on GT!!)
  9. Jasper's gorgeous!! How is he doing now, about 6 weeks in, isn't it?
  10. Oh, Craig... I'm so very sorry... I've loved Brandee on here since you first joined - your pictures of her let us know her just a little bit. Hugs to you Run free, Brandee
  11. I think Lily-of-the-Valley is toxic to dogs/cats too...
  12. Me too - cat&grey lover here! (Just don't HAVE a grey at the moment...) Greys really are pretty cat-like in a lot of ways, so you sort-of adopted a CAT!!!
  13. Welcome from Maryland! He sounds great!! (I have an Iowa connection - my dad grew up in Ute, in Monona County, out west...)

    Turbo

Oh, no, Meredith! I'm so sorry - my heart also dropped when I saw his name. Hugs to you & Mitch. Run free, Turbo - and find the good couches...
  15. Yeah, Robin - I was skeptical too - till Cody sent me a sign I couldn't miss. My friend Vicki's grey had passed about a year before Cody, then Cody in Jan of '05. I went down to FL to visit Vicki & family in the spring of '06 and I knew they were doing a grey event in Tampa (can't remember the name of it but there were vendors, etc, at a hotel not far from the airport). We were talking about the dogs (of course). We went in the the event & looked around a bit, then when we left, we were driving down the street the hotel was on & saw this humongous double rainbow!! So we both figured that Cleo & Cody were together & sent us both our sign at the same time. Very weird...
  16. Try Pepcid. My girl Cody had a sensitive stomach and would be gurgly frequently. I finally had to put digestive enzymes on her food to help her digest it. Try the pepcid first - it helps LOTS of them!
  17. Welcome from Maryland! What group are you fostering for? I'm a Greyhound Welfare volunteer... but there are about 8 groups that work in Maryland! Be aware - greyhounds AND GreyTalk are addicting!!
  18. I remember... Keep runnin' at the bridge, Iberia!
  19. Lucy - I'm so sorry Nick had to leave your mom & family... Run & find Riley, Nick...
  20. Oh, Robin... sorry seems so inadequate, but I truly am so sorry Phene had to leave you too soon. I'll miss him at Dewey & GIG. Many hugs to you - I'll be thinking about you.
  21. Oh, Mimi - I'm so sorry... Run free, Sterling
