  1. Beth - I'm so sorry ... GTers will miss Patrick too... Hugs...
  2. Could well be that they've also lost cherished pets as well, and they know what you're going through. People who have not had pets don't really 'get' it, that sometimes we grieve as much or more for a pet than for a family member!! (Well, they ARE family members to me...) Hugs...
  3. Hi Amy!! She looks a lot like my girl Cody when I first got her! In other words, gorgeous!!
  4. I'm so sorry, Linda... Run free, Flame
  5. Nancy - just seeing this - I'm so very sorry Albi couldn't be with you for longer... I've always loved the Albi pix & stories here... (I've met his sister Nola in person) Hugs... we'll all miss him on GT too...
  6. I'm so sorry... what a very hard way to lose your lovely Dreamer. Second guessing yourself is very normal - even those of us who had to make the decision to euthanize our beloved dogs second-guessed ourselves for months (maybe longer). Don't be afraid to grieve for your dog, especially here. Most everyone on GT knows what you're going through right now Hugs...
  7. I'm so sorry, Sheila & Jimmy... he's found the other two A's and they're all together again... Hugs from me...
  8. Hugs, Robin - can't believe it's been 3 years already...
  9. Hi Mary Pat - I'm just now seeing this... I'm so so sorry Crystal couldn't stay longer - and I'm very glad I got to meet her at GIG. Huge hugs coming your way from me...
  10. Charlie will ALWAYS be alive in the hearts of all GTers... Hugs to you...
  11. I love standard poodles ALMOST as much as I love greys!! Were you on the board on April 1? Every year, it changes to PoodleTalk for the day!! :lol
  12. I hang out on the SLR site sometimes - and the best part is, with ALL the cute doggies there (all lurchers, many part Saluki or grey), I'm SAFE over here on this side of the pond!!
  13. Oh, PJ - I'm so sorry Wiki couldn't spend tons more time with you... thinking of you.
  14. I'm so sorry, Sheila & Jimmy... I think I only got to meet her once... Hugs to you all...
  15. (May have misread this but I think it's the 9 year old, Luke, who has the OS diagnosis...) Hugs
  16. I think you misread - it says there has to be NO evidence of lung mets. I don't think the number of visits is all that bad actually, the problem I had with most studies is you generally are not allowed to do any other treatments at the same time so no Palladia, no Artemisinin, etc. for the duration of the study. Of course you could always resume them once the study was completed. Yep, and then what if your grey happens to be in the control group?? THey have to have a control group who's getting just saline or something...

    Pipi-Francine

She's always been one of my favorites too.. I'm so sorry... Hugs to you Run free, Pipi-Francine
  18. Jen- I'd definitely get a full tick panel done - we have TONS of Lyme and Ehrlichia in our area, and a bit (though not much) of RMSF. I'd rule those out first, then go to your ortho... (although he'd probably do them anyway, I'd think...) Good luck!
  19. The first vet I ever took Cody to (for a teeth cleaning) gave her Ace 'cause she was a pain in the butt & barking, barking, barking (and yes she was a grey! But a barker). They gave it to her in the morning and she was still asleep at 4pmj!! When I had to pick her up at 6pm 'cause they were closing, someone had to help me CARRY her to the car 'cause she was still so groggy! I made very sure she NEVER had Ace again... and changed vets the next day! (My next vet told me once, when Cody had been there all day for x-rays, that she WISHED she could have given her Ace!! She was being a barking PITA - but once they let her OUT of the kennel to roam the place, she was fine! (Especially after a vet tech gave her part of her tuna sandwich! Smart girl, that one...) NO ACE!!!
  20. Just reading this, Deanna - poor Symbra, poor you!! Hopefully she'll stabilize soon & come home soon!! I may have to come visit her in a few weeks...
  21. Janet - I'm so very sorry... It's hard enough to lose them when they're older but just so unfair when they're so young... Hugs to you... Run free, little Peanut
  22. Cody was also the kennel pet (ie brat!) and got into LOTS of things!! I had to crate her 'cause she was completely un-cat-safe (although I was told she was cat-safe) and since I didnt' want her to kill the cat while I was gone, she was crated for several years! Good luck!!
