  1. I remember it like it was yesterday... special hugs to you, Beryl...
  2. If there are more, or you see some on her poop, try to get a straw or something & put some in an empty pill bottle with some alcohol...
  3. Could be tapeworm - they break into segments... And I'm not sure if Panacur gets them... call the vet - don't suppose you saved them?!?!?! (heehee) Would be useful for vet...
  4. Hi Shirley!! I didn't realize you'd been gone from GT that long!! Welcome back!
  5. Oooooh - is your kitty a lynx-point? Looks like it from your avatar pic!! I LOVE lynx points - and WILL have one some day!! Please post pix!!
  6. Brady's beautiful!! Congratulations & welcome to the wonderful (and addictive!) world of greyhounds!!
  7. Oh Robin...I have no words...only tears. Hugs to you and Iker and allen I'm so glad I got to spend some time with her at GIG
  8. Hi & welcome from Maryland (just outside Washington DC)!! Judy (Silverfish) lives near Peterborough & they come over for some of the greyhound events here - that's how we all met her in person! You just have to plan ahead!! The one in Gettysburg at the end of April is great fun too!
  9. Cody was a lunger/chaser/drooler with my cat - I kept her crated when I wasn't there for several YEARS - just didn't trust her with the cat... I think in that time, the cat would 'discipline' her through the crate bars because she ended up being very wary of the cat.. (She probably should NOT have been placed in a home with a cat but the group didn't screen for cats well and they wouldn't take her back, so we just had to work through the issue - took a LONG time though...)
  10. Big hugs, Ducky... it's ALWAYS too soon for them to leave us...
  11. Oh, PLEASE!!! Psorophora ciliata are about TWICE the size of a normal mosquito - which is big enough 'cause they DO hurt when they bite - feels like someone jabbing you with a (large) pin!! I've had them chase me out of the woods before. But PLEASE why do they have to exaggerate like that!!? Their bodies are about the size of a dime - with legs, about the size of a quarter. They breed in temporary pools, so if there is a lot of sheet water there, they'lll have waaaaaaay too many of them!! (I work for mosquito control...)
  12. I'm so sorry, Jey & grammy... We've all loved Joseph on GT... Run free, laddie...
  13. I'm so sorry Tom...I too remember when you got him... lots of hugs...
  14. Hugs, Robin... And, yes, could we PLEASE have a Loca story or two?
  15. Cody was afraid of balloons too! She was a therapy dog & when I took her to the nursing home, I knew before I walked into a room if they had gotten a baloon - Cody balked & backed out of there fast! Once, I had her at the U of MD campus for a stroll & there was a wedding at the chapel - they released a bunch of balloons & Cody freaked out!! Also, once, she was staring & staring up - didn't see anything to frighten her but then DID see it !! An escaped BALLOON!!!!!!!!! Practically out of the atmosphere! (slight exaggeration) but she saw it! And she hated loose scary plastic grocery bags!! And flapping flags too...
  16. I'm so sorry - I had a tortie for 17 & 1/2 years - Hugs to you

  18. I'm so sorry, Karen... she was a sweetie...
  19. Horrible!! The only thing worse is when your dog is being attacked & you can't stop it... (been there, it was awful)

  23. Hi Laura - and welcome to GreyTalk! Others will be able to give you better advice, probably, but for now, look up NILIF on here - it's Nothing In Life Is Free training and often helps with space aggression, guarding, etc. Basically, everything Dillard gets, he has to earn - and for now, NO COUCH!! Others will post soon - but start there!! And remember... he's new to the home life and doesn't know what's expected of him yet. Good luck - you'll get lots of good advice here...
