  1. How sad and shocking - sending my sympathy
  2. Kyle and Lynn - one again we faced loss at the same time......rivie and Charlie we’re both battling osteo and lost their battle about the same time. And now sweet Stewie and Ronee (we had to send her to the bridge 2 weeks ago). I know Lynn has had health issues as I have had and I’ll bet that Stewie was as good of nurse to her as Ronee was for me. So brave, so loyal and loving and in our hearts forever. What a great life Stewie and Ronee had. My sympathy to you guys - Teri
  3. We lost our sweet girl Ronee 9/18/18. A racer, a momma of four and a perfect pet. In the beginning she was So excited to be chosen she was the happy tail girl. I always joked that if ever something happened to my husband and they luminaled the house they would lock me up before they discovered it was dog blood. She had been going downhill for quite sometime....systemic cancer and weakened back end difficulties. We believe the CBC oil gave her a few extra months with us. We feel so blessed she was able to make the move with us last summer from Oklahoma to Kansas City area. She loved her new home with the iron fenced back yard where she could see out and rule the entire neighborhood. Some of you know I have been extremely ill for the last year and a half....Ronee was my best friend and my nursemaid. I swear she was not going to give in to her own pain until she could see I was better. We were very blessed to find a new mobile vet after our move that she got to meet several times before the day. He was so compassionate with her....and with my husband and I as well a we stayed by her side. Jill and Phog are mourning her right along with her human family. We miss her so much our hearts hurt.
  4. I just read this and it makes my heart hurt for you. I know this is no comfort to you - but I gotta say if I had to leave this earth stuffing myself with goodies and a good bottle of wine would be the way I’d want to go. Hugs to you.
  5. We said a very sad goodbye today to Rollover Ronee. I will write a tribute when I can do justice to our special girl. Not only my dh and me grieving - rowdy jill and beware of phog are acting totally depressed. We were blessed to have the extremely compassionate and professional mobile vet to the house and we were there for her all the way just as she has always been there for us.
  6. Prayers for you and your sweet mystic.....

  12. Love it-and yes very true. Can’t wait to see more of your work! One of my favorite greyhound stories (it was shared on this site years ago)....right after the birth of our first grandchild our daughter was going to take the new baby for a walk in his brand new stroller - so I and our two greyhounds joined her ..... a man was out in his yard and seeing us walking by called out “oh my gosh, can I come see” or something to that effect - our daughter was glowing to show off the new baby, but when he walked up he wanted to pet and ask questions about Ronee and Jill ....... Our vet office favorite story is when I was taking Ronee one day she was cowering in the corner I couldn’t reach of the suv. I was trying to coax her out “Ronee can you come here please?” “Ronee get over here”. A gentleman came trotting over saying “mam I don’t know you at all I don’t think”. Yep his name was Ronnie - he helped me retrieve my Ronee from the corner of the car and then went inside the vet office to share his story with all the ladies there.
  13. Keep us posted. So sorry you are having to go thru all this again..........
  14. Hello and welcome - you sound like my husband and I many years ago (considering but never had a big dog before and wanting to research). That was 6 greyhounds ago . I second what everyone else has already said - they are just special. Ps - not 6 at one time!!!!
  15. Truly a decision of love on your part - although they take a part of your heart with them, they leave you a bigger part of theirs here with you .... my sympathy
