That's a yellow tennis ball. After it's been in the desert sun too long. Miss LaVida stalks it after dinner. :lol

It is still quite chilly here.  We have had a few warm days, but, the following days have been cool.  Heavy rain expected from today thru Monday.  Now back to Al Roker.

No vitamin D deficiencies in those dogs!

We got the heavy rain last night -- 4" in less than 4 hours.  Showers off and on today, with a high of 50F.

I'm not sure I could take even the morning temps in AZ. I has been sunny and cool (under 60F) here. Perfect for walking hounds or working outside.

The hounds are KNOT morning people (neither is their Daddyman). We've been lucky enough to be able to walk right at sunset most evenings as the sidewalks are still cooling off enough to be able to walk. We probably only have a few more nights of evening walks before the sidewalks will retain the daytime heat and temps will still be too high to walk after sunset.  Once the continuous heat starts, we use a laser thermometer to check the sidewalk temps before deciding if we can walk. Most of the time we can't.

That sucks. We do three walks a day no matter what, although I do make adjustments for conditions.

Today it was around 70, but seemed warmer because the conditions changed so quickly. Opal, who is nearly 14, didn't want to join the others at lunchtime. I took her out separately. She turned back as soon as she was empty. Then she wandered around the edges of the yard for quite a while eating tasty spring grass. The leaves are coming out so she had a fair bit of shade during her wander.

Rocket loved spring grass chutes.  I used to call him Salad Boy when he did that.  We are just about at the point where you have to finish your walk by about 6:30 AM to be comfortable. Any later and the sun is high enough to make the walk way too hot.

I can deal with dry heat, at least the sweat does something! 5 years in south Texas, good times! I was lucky enough to work midnight shifts a lot during the summer. Hot still, but you didn't have to deal with the sun.

Current Crew: Gino-Gene-Eugene! (Eastnor Rebel: Makeshift x Celtic Dream); Fuzzy the Goo-Goo Girl (BGR Fuzzy Navel: Boc's Blast Off x Superior Peace); Roman the Giant Galoot! (Imark Roman: Crossfire Clyde x Shana Wookie); Kitties Archie and Dixie

Forever Missed: K9 Sasha (2001-2015); Johnny (John Reese--Gable Dodge x O'Jays) (2011-19); the kitties Terry and Bibbi; and all the others I've had the privilege to know

Ugh. Getting up early enough to finish by 6:30 am wouldn't be on my agenda either.

All my current sheep houndies love spring grass. So does the woolly dog, but she vomits, so she gets yelled at when she partakes.
