Introducing Jersey -- All The Way From Umm...new Jersey

After a busy racing career consisting of 114 races and 15 wins, Jersey is a five-year old female enjoying retirement and has been sharing my home for three months now. She is not only my first grey but also my first dog period. I can't imagine life without her at this point. She's so good natured and well mannered - except when she sees one of the many small, white dogs in the hood - then all bets are off.

Anyway I just wanted to introduce my girl and I hope we make some positive contributions here.

I see she's claimed your bed! What a beauty.

It USED to be my bed. It's hers now and she lets me share it if I'm good. lol

She'll often lay down and sleep on it as a human would, with her head on the pillow.

Welcome to Greyhound World! My first grey (adopted in 2008) is my first dog too. Wishing you many happy years with Jersey! (I'm a NY/NJ girl myself though living in Iowa now. What part of the state are you in?)

Welcome! When will you be getting you second? (Joke. Sort of. :rofl ). Small fluffies are always interesting I find.

Funny you say that. I already have an itch to get her a friend. However, she's been so awesome, almost from the very first day, that I'm not sure any other dog could live up to the expectations that she's established. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've had to tell her not to do something. I let her sleep outside of her crate on her 4th night here and there's never been any problems. In fact after two weeks I ditched her crate completely (she didn't like it) and let her roam the upstairs while I'm at work and she's never done anything bad. It's amazing she could be plopped into such a foreign world yet know how to behave.
