fsugrad
I am so sorry for your horrible news about Spud, and know exactly how you feel, as our precious Robin passed away 1 1/2 weeks ago from prostate cancer at age 7. Sending hugs and hoping you have many, many good days/weeks/months. Guest BlackandBrindle
He's okay right now on pain meds. He's getting so many cookies he doesn't know what alien has taken over mom's brain. I am losing my mind but trying to hold things together for my baby. I appreciate the support. I think the shock is starting to wear off but the fear will be there until the end. krissn333
Sorry to hear what you're looking at, and still hoping for VF (isn't that crazy? We HOPE for Valley Fever). As Jen said above, palliative care can still give you a lot of good time, if it turns out to be...that other thing. I had 6 GOOD months with Sutra with just Deramaxx, tramadol, and pamidronate. We didn't know about gabapentin at the time, but, it can also make a HUGE difference for pain. Others in our osteo group have made it longer. FedX was a year and 9 months, I think (?) on palliative care. Others have done very well and come close to a year. We went the amp and chemo route with Pinky and she had an AMAZING year. But, it was a rear leg. She recuperated right away and never looked back. In a lot of ways becoming a tripod changed her, for the better. She became more independent, more of her own dog. Her personality bloomed and she battled through everything. Deciding a treatment route is a very personal choice that NO ONE will ever criticize you for. We just want you to know that you do have LOTS of options, and we're here to support you in whatever options you choose. But we're still hoping it's Valley Fever Hugs to you Quote Kristin in Moline, IL USA with Ozzie (MRL Crusin Clem), Clarice (Clarice McBones), Latte and Sage the IGs, and the kitties: Violet and Rose Lovingly Remembered: Sutra (Fliowa Sutra) 12/02/97-10/12/10, Pinky (Pick Me) 04/20/03-11/19/12, Fritz (Fritz Fire) 02/05/01 - 05/20/13, Ace (Fantastic Ace) 02/05/01 - 07/05/13, and Carrie (Takin the Crumbs) 05/08/99 - 09/04/13. cmc333
I am so sorry. I swear it's more painful for us - the humans - going through this because the hound doesn't know what is going on and we do. Many hugs to Spud.
