Maybe we could have a recap of some of the more notorious Loca stories? Some of the amazing pictures?

Hugs to help your sore heart, of course.

If it would help you remember her I would be up for some recap, too. I came later in Loca's crazy life and don't know all her antics, though the ones I remember reading were pretty good.

Hugs and fond memories

I miss Loca's pictures and her stories. I think I've always been drawn to her because she and Emmy had basically the same personality.

There's a link somewhere (Robin, you no doubt have it) to Loca's story. I was honored to hand her over to Robin, as I was part of the GUR. Loca was a hell-raiser, that's for sure, and we will never forget her time at our house (she stayed overnight). From her trying to eat our cat, to her sleeping on top of me on the sofa, it was a night to remember. :) What a crazy, sweet dog she was.

You were blessed to have her, Robin, and she was blessed to have you.

Phoebe (Belle's Sweetpea) adopted 9/2/13.

Here is Loca's website from Most Loved Dog from the Greyhound Gang. This is the website based on the original on emade by Batmom when she was first adopted. The top picture is the dog I thought I was adopting. It wasn't Loca :lol

There are so many stories. Here are a few that really stand out:

1. Standing on my dining table on all fours the day after I adopted her. That was how she earned her name.

2. "disciplining" a puppy at a meet and greet. This puppy was as big, or bigger, than 54 lb. Loca. It took four of us to pry open her mouth which was around the screaming puppy's neck. Puppy was unhurt.

3. Couldn't keep her out of dog food containers. Put a case of wine on top to hold down the lid. Came home to open dog food bin and broken bottles of red wine on my hardwood floor.

4. Finding bottles of wine upstairs on my pillow.

5. I came home from work one day with a bottle of Grand Marnier from a friend that was in a cloth sack. I heard some funny noises. Found the bottle rolling down the stairs from the second floor (i left it on the first floor) with the empty sack in the upstairs hallway.

5. She opened a mason jar of pea soup. Opposable thumbs?

6. She moved a six pack of beer from the living room to the TV room.

7. She completely hogged up all the attention at a friend's birthday party. A singer was performing and Loca was playing with a toy non-stop right in front of him.

8. Numerous incidents of her stealing dog toys from the hands of strangers at Dewey, etc, while walking down the street.

9. Stole a little girl's stuff animal when we were walking through the park.

10. Once I was talking to an old lady who had her cockapoo on a leash. Loca lunged at the dog; a full lunge. I pulled her back and acted like nothing happened.

Those are just a few stories. She was one in a zillion...thank god! :lol

That picture is one of my all-time favorites. To me it says "high intelligence" and "live it to the max". I've always figured that Loca had a lot in common with Sirocco, besides being Reko dogs with highly developed jumping and mischief abilities. Their personalities, spirits, and intelligence went so much deeper than their antics for which they were known. Although, with Loca's fondness for stealing wine, Sirocco's fondness for stealing bread, Zema's fondness for stealing paper goods, the three of them would just have to find a Reko dog with a fondness for stealing cheese and meat and they could have quite the party planning business.

Is it any wonder the weather has been so unsettled this year? Snowstorms, hail, tornadoes .... Those kids are having a blast.

That time, I remember thinking a trip to the border might be in my future ....

5. She opened a mason jar of pea soup. Opposable thumbs?

Very likely.

:lol

But, she was also as sweet as they come. She shared my bed at Dewey. Shoved me over and stole my blanket and snuggled up ....

I miss her stories too.

She beat Winnie at Dairyland a couple times, and Winnie really didn't like to lose. They were SO much alike. Win had no affinity for stealing alcohol, but they shared that "mind of my own" personality, and zero tolerance for small, annoying dogs. I like to think that my old girl has joined the party, and has probably asked for a re-match!

Thank you so much for the pictures and the stories. I'd forgotten those awesome bad-girl panties were Loca's.

To this day I can't imagine how she got that Mason jar open!
