I had to put my wonderful greyhound boy of almost 11 years old to sleep yesterday. He could no longer get up on his own and was incontinent. He was a rare greyhound who would smile and rub his face against my leg for petting. He was not a barker and was a sweet boy. He became a registered therapy dog and tried his best to compete in agility. He was a great therapy dog,but he did the agility for me. He was a bit clumsy and was not the most graceful on the field. He leaves his actual sister Magnolia. Magnolia has been looking for him a bit and crying which breaks my heart. I wish I could just talk and explain what happened to her brother. I have another greyhound Porter, whippet Devo and a jack russell terrier named Gus still in my house. I know that time will make this easier for me and I know that we did the right thing for our sweet greyhound boy Ferris, but it does not make it any easier.He was my heart dog who will never be replaced. It is too early for me to figure out how to post a photo with a Mac so I will add my blog which I can not figure out how to link, but I have pictures posted on my blog. Love that strong can never die and it is the way of the heartdog for sure. Do try to talk to Magnolia and explain what happenned-she will understand.
