I hope the memories you created together in such a short time will help heal your heart. What are the odds that you would post in Remembrance and one of the first responses is about Dodge's brother?! Perhaps your baby boy is letting you know he's OK. Godspeed Dodge, you are loved No kidding!! I can remember countless times looking up different shelters to try to find Ugo. It's like Dodge's way of saying 'here mom, I found who you were looking for' I think it's waaaaaaaaaaay too much to be called a coincidence. We called up REGAP today to tell them that Dodge passed but we will be keeping Sophie. (she was our foster). I think she came in our lives for a reason. We didn't want to foster yet, we just had a tiny apartment but Sophie had no where else to go and was LITERALLY dropped at our doorstep. I think she came in to help us cope with Dodge. I don't know how I would be doing just wandering around, with empty dog beds. Probably make the situation worse. Sophie knew you would need help getting through this. Someone once told me that when you adopt a greyhound, you join a whole 'nother world and it seems to be true. It amazes me how, people who didn't know us or Dodge feel our pain. Dodge was our first greyhound, but he'll never be the last. As I told him during our last moments, it's b/c of him that there are now more greyhounds in our town. It was b/c of people running out of the stores (and scaring the crap out of him) and him showing them what being a greyhound is all about (once mum pulled the never ending treats out of her pocket, his shyness went away FAST). When I get the gumption up, I'll post pictures of his last days with Sophie. I remember a couple of them just staring out the window together or sharing a bed. (She, during her first couple of days, would always try to steal his bed, but they settled with sharing May I aslo mention that there were 2 other available beds, but I guess his was the best).
