Guest greyhound_bug Posted September 28, 2007 Share Posted September 28, 2007 I know word has been spreading like wild fire so I will confirm it now. Yes. The xrays show that Scooter has cancer. My mind is still trying to wrap around the concept that it's actually happening. No matter how much we prepare ourselves in our minds knowing that our Greys will likely leave us due to this disease, it doesn't cushion the blow when you hear the words that it's your hound that is effected. It seems especially harsh since we are here a month after the eye surgery. Thank you all for all of your thoughts and prayers. There are no words to express how grateful I am for all of them. I know Scooter is just one of many hounds going through health difficulties right now. All of the hounds here on GreyTalk are truly blessed to have such wonderful people looking after them. I know exactly what you mean about hearing it about YOUR hound. No matter how much you try to prepare yourself for the worst news, you're never ready. I still remember the day that the specialist confirmed that Sullivan had cancer...that blow was harder than the one when our vet first told us that he was 98% sure that Sullivan had Osteo, but because I was in denial and was nieve in thinking "that wouldn't happen to MY hound", until we got a second opinion, I didn't want to beleive it. Jennifer Posted September 28, 2007 Author Share Posted September 28, 2007 Hi everyone. Sorry to just drop off on you last night and today but it's been a crazy 24 hours as you all can well imagine. I am at home today with Scooter and he is resting well. His leg is VERY swollen. He seems to be in good spirits but you can tell he knows he's sick. I've emailed Dr. C to see if he has any thoughts or suggestions on the situation. Thank you all for everything. I am certainly not alone while going through this and that is a great comfort. I just got back from MIL's funeral and specifically came to H&M hopeful of a good update on Scooter's vet visit. So sorry to hear it's cancer. And I echo everyone that said to contact Dr. Couto.
