A poem for Razor I look up to the sky and wonder what lies beyond, A beautiful place called Rainbow Bridge of where dogs are so fond, Little did I know my baby would go there so soon, He was happy and jolly and played like a loon. A beautiful dear creature that lives deep in my heart, A tall Brindle boy from who I never wanted to part. Time took its toll and things started to become clear, My lovely sweet soilder would soon not be here. He was by my side day and night, I would comfort him when scary things caused him fright. He would greet me at the door with a smile on his face, But now he’s gone to kinder place… A place where the streams flow gently and grass is so green, A place that no human eye has ever seen. In this place, his pain is no longer there, But down here on earth the pain is too much to bear. No loving head on my lap with eyes that say “I love you”, No soft velvet head for me to stroke to say “I love you too” No paw that nudges should my attention wander, Just a horrible injury caused by some racing blunder! So now my sweet angel runs free from harm of all kind, But until we meet again everyday he will fill my heart and also fill my mind.
