  1. The blocking you from leaving the kitchen could have been her telling you she had to go out. How much do you feed her? What kind of food? And what times of day?
  2. Is your vet referencing the WBC to greyhounds? It's slightly low for greyhounds: 3.5 - 6.5 and other dog is 5.8 - 20.3 (Dr Couto) or 6.0 - 17.0 (Dr Stack).
  3. What is Travel's WBC, RBC, Hgb, and the platelet count?

I already did Erika after I read about him on FB. I hope little Rita gets over losing her buddy soon.
  5. Two 100mg tablets sounds like a lot. Let your vet know just how zonked out Chase was and for how long. My vet said the correct dose would last 4 hours but I don't know if that's the standard she preferred.
  6. What dose of trazodone did you try with Ruby? Mazy was prescribed 1/2 of a 50mg tablet. I have been able to lower that to 1/4 tablet every 2 hours IF I start the first dose before a predicted event (fireworks, thunderstorm). It hasn't been perfect and she still seeks out a dark room. She peed on her bed once but at that point she had held her pee for 18 hours. Have any of you tried valium with any success?
  7. And that way you'll be able to see just how much your new boy has been eating and whether his brother has been scarfing down new boy's portion too. Keep us posted.
  8. Before changing the food I would suggest that you stop free feeding. Is there a particular reason why you do it?
  9. How many joints of that toe were removed? Gracie's toe was amped due to what turned out to be a rare but benign tumor. Vet stated that 2 joints needed to be removed (even though the tumor just surrounded the nail bed) so that the "nub" would not rub on the ground when she walked. It never bothered her and healed quickly.
  10. Consider a consult with Dr Couto. He can review your girl's case and may see something that other vets have missed. http://www.coutovetconsultants.com/for-ownersadopters/
  11. I don't think benadryl would do that. It was the plain benadryl pill with no additives? My first mutt got lumps on her muzzle from trying to eat a spider.
  12. Have you tried the benadryl yet as per hubcitypam and tbhounds suggestions? My old mutt had a similar bump come up on several places across her head. After bendryl they went away within an hour. Is he trying to rubbing or scratch at those lumps? Coming up quick like they did makes me think allergic reaction to something.
  13. Did he have a bordatella vaccine (for kennel cough) prior to going to the doggy daycare kennel? Most places require it.
  14. Saying goodbye to the beautiful greyhounds and their friends who left us in July 2015. As you run with the wind send a caress to wipe our tears. Gone but never forgotten. Loved forever. Run free with those who have gone before you. Greet all those that will follow. Petey, Mandy, and their mom Miss Nancy Toby Shanti Duke Nita Peanut, a little dog with a big heart Peaches and Ziggy, the hedgehogs Boy Araley Jet Cricket, the kitty Santos Coopernikis Sam Tibbie, a shaggy, little best friend to greyhounds Cocoa Scout Pistol Oz Pixie Elune, the kitty Ford and Chica Tugboat Beth Mimi They'll always be with us, just slightly beyond the point that we can see with our eyes. In our heart, though, they'll be bright and clear, as they always were.
  15. Matt, here's some articles for you: http://drsophiayin.com/blog/entry/help-my-dog-bites-how-to-deal-with-dogs-who-bite http://drsophiayin.com/blog/category/aggression
  16. I don't think you failed in leadership. Like Brandiandwe said, watch his body language. Hopefully someone will have a link to that info.
  17. When toweling, was it the same part of the body that made her yelp? Neck? Back? Any similar yelps when getting up or down?
  18. I didn't think you'd mind if I added him. I know it's hard to post something when you've just lost your heart dog. I am so sorry that Chance had to leave you.
