  1. Have you tried putting a few little dabs of peanut butter in their food bowl?
  2. We use the Seresto flea and tick collar. It is greyhound safe. No bugs so far.
  3. Send all images and lab results to Dr Couto http://www.coutovetconsultants.com/for-ownersadopters/ The fee is $120. Well worth the money to have him review everything and offer treatment and biopsy suggestions to you and your vet.
  4. Yup, I was over thinking it. I've made tomorrow's batch and reduced the water a bit so now it is more like a runny oatmeal.
  5. Time4ANap, so if the package says approx. 1 tbsp with 1 cup of water, but Rocker gets it made with 4-5 ounces of water, do you normally add more water with his kibble? I get the impression this does not have to be a precise ratio of carrots to water since all is coming out well in the end.
  6. Yay for Bernie! Ditto on the laser treatments. They helped my mutt girlie PUdge and she actually enjoyed having them done.
  7. I just got my first order of the carrots. I mixed one cup warm water, one tbsp of carrots and one tsp coconut oil. After mixing and letting it sit it looks like soup. So now the serving size is up to one cup per greyhound? For this first batch I'm going to split it between them. Have I "cooked" it right?
  8. What is the dose? Why did your vet prescribe it?
  9. For prevention, have you tried the new Seresto flea and tick collar? We had good success with it here last fall during tick time.
  10. Regular bamboo is not toxic to dogs. The houseplant Lucky Bamboo is not a true bamboo and is toxic. How much kibble are you giving her per meal? One cup of water is more than I put on my dogs' kibble. You could try giving her a portion of her meal and then give the rest a few minutes later.
  11. The apartment's dog park is so small - it's about 5 car lengths long and 3 wide. Not much of a park. They learned early on not to go there when many bully breed started showing up. I've told the owner to take pics of the off leash/ range free hounds she encounters. Might be difficult to do with her hound keying in on them.
  12. Is anything different in the area where you put their food bowls? Gas leaks? Electrical short?
  13. Mikey did not need sedation for his chest and abdomen films. He was very unhappy with them holding him down. Sedation for your girl should be very brief.
  14. An adopter has a 90 boy who is super strong and high prey. What brands of harnesses would help them to get better control? Unfortunately they live in an apartment complex with little yappers running off leash. There's just no chance to try and do a "look at me" distraction.
  15. Maybe this? http://www.thepetdentist.com/cavities-resorptive-lesions-pets.php
  16. I am so sorry to hear this. Knowing what "it" is is scary. Yet it also makes us cherish the time we have left them.
  17. They could have done the CBC in-house but we're getting the combo CBC + clotting test which had to be sent out. Results should come in by Monday afternoon.
  18. The Rimadyl was issued yesterday by a vet at their sister clinic and was for his toe injury (nail ripped off). Today's vet said to discontinue until lab results come back for just the reason you said. As far as the panel, there were 2 levels to choose from. On was some basic PT tests (don't remember all the test names. The second covered more of them, so more "Ps and Ts". It also included the CBC and the total price for that combo was $225.
