  1. Switching to raw cured Fletcher’s poop eating, except when his tummy was upset, then he would go back to eating his poop if he could get away with it, but he had IBS. However, when I switched to a combo of kibble and raw for time and $ reasons he did not go back to his poop eating. If you can find Tucker’s raw frozen, they are cheaper than Stella and Chewy’s or Nature’s Variety and just as good quality.
  2. Fletcher was on metacam and it worked well, but of course, there can be different reactions in different dogs. My vet at the time thought metacam was a bit easier on their kidneys, and I liked the fact that as a liquid you could adjust the dose to their exact weight.
  3. I have seen references to this in permaculture, as a soil additive, but it sounds like you are adding it to their food? Is that a different mix of microorganisms?
  4. Both of my dogs go out after dinner (6-6:30) and then don’t go out again until morning. I tried making them go out before bed, but they just stood at the back door until I let them back in Do you think he would go in the house at night if he didn’t get his last outing?
  5. I have three steps down into the back yard, and a ramp. Conner (12.10 and gimpy) will walk down the ramp, but half the time he jumps all three steps to come in I wouldn’t worry about his marking/peeing on his walks. Most important is him not marking in the house, and you can try to stop him on things in your yard you don’t want marked, but it is just a thing dogs do
  6. Sounds he is doing great! Glad things are going so well
  7. I've had 7 greyhounds and several fosters and none had sleep startle, all but one were cat safe. Your new dog may have a few space issues at first, just because everything is so new and strange, so hold off on the snuggling at first, unless the dog initiates it Also, remember that some greys sleep with their eyes open (I've had three that did) so you may not know for sure at first if he is really asleep
  8. Beautiful babies! I remember Aria in pearls as well
  9. Wow, that was scary! I hope he will make a full recovery I presume that like people, dogs can do fine without their gall bladder?
  10. Ugh, hookworms are nasty, persistent little buggers! It can take several rounds of treatment to get rid of them. In the meantime, a bland diet is a good idea, plain boiled chicken or ground beef (strained to get rid of some of the fat) with over cooked (mushy) rice, oatmeal, or pasta. Hope he starts to feel better soon.
  11. Grain free would be an option to keep in mind, corn is another common sensitivity. Try to do one thing at a time though, easier to keep track Hopefully the lamb will do the trick! My vet says all the time, I wish they could just tell us what’s wrong!
  12. Definitely sounds like allergies, mild but annoying. Could be chicken, so maybe try another protein like fish or lamb. Try to find a limited ingredient brand so you have a better idea of what is/isn’t working. Also, maybe try some Benadryl to see if that helps with the itchies, it could be a combination of seasonal allergies and food sensitivities. Fun times
  13. Hard to imagine him reaching the top of the fridge. High jumps, I suppose.
  14. Yes, not just the kitchen counters, have to watch the tables too I had a grey that never counter surfed or begged for people food, so I had gotten careless. Left my plate with a chicken breast on it on the table and briefly left the room. Came back to a clean plate and very happy greyhound.
  15. Poor girl, I am sure she is uncomfortable! The first 24-48 should be the worst, hope things will start to improve.
