  1. Hoping he is feeling better and gets to come home soon
  2. Hoping it turns out to be something minor. I took my first grey to the evet for a limp that pain meds didn't fix, turned out to be a soft tissue injury Unfortunately, when Sallie's leg broke from osteo, there was no limp or swelling before hand. I would get x-rays on Monday even if the limp stops. Be sure they go all the way up to the shoulder.
  3. Yes, if it helps, definitely do research! It’s not cheap, but the prices are all over the place, you can do better than that
  4. It is wonderful how well he has fit in with your family! Sounds like a perfect match For the poop, I would have him checked for worms, especially hookworms. You have probably seen the posts on here about how there is a new strain that is resistant to previous treatments. Even if the group said he had been treated, that is the most likely cause. Instead of a crate, can you baby gate him into one room? Preferably one without carpet He may tolerate that much better than a crate. Most of all, congratulations on your new boy!
  5. What Don listed in his post, Urban Activ PetSerinity Tincture 360 mg I first tried Treatibles, but I dont think they have a high enough dose for a large dog.
  6. I am so very sorry If it helps, I think you are doing the right thing. I hope Joey has a quiet night.
  7. I use ^ CBD oil for Conner’s fireworks/thunder phobia. I put a few drops on a treat, I usually give 9-12 drops. I tried giving it to him daily for pain, but it seemed to give him some soft poop, so I stopped the daily dose.
  8. Glad she continues to have a good appetite, that is key. I hope this can be managed and you have a long time left with her.
  9. That was my first thought as well. It may not be visible yet, but still causing pain.
  10. It is sad that we can’t safely take our dogs to a dog park, but it seems to be the case. Some people have been able to find times when the dog park is generally empty and take their dogs then, but you still run the risk of them picking up diseases and/or parasites.
  11. Good point. Anyone who sleeps there, including Trolley’s mom, does so only with Trolley’s permission.
  12. It is the hardest decision you will ever make, and having made it before doesn’t help make it any easier. All kinds of things factor in, and it is different for each dog and each person. It does feel like murder sometimes, but in reality, you are giving him the best gift, freedom from pain. The screaming from a broken leg is the worst sound I have ever heard. I have heard it twice, and hope I never hear it again. I hope you can enjoy the time you have left with Joey, remember, he doesn’t know anything is wrong.
